Description
At the mouth of Surprise Canyon on the eastern flank of the Panamint Mountains, this BLM dispersed area sits on the edge of Panamint Valley with wide panoramic views across the desert basin. The gravel lot is large, flat, and open — big enough for rigs of any size — with multiple fire rings already in place and additional pullouts along Indian Ranch Road nearby. The access road is typically well-graded and straightforward, though occasional wash damage can force approach from the Ballarat side only.
