Crystal Creek flows alongside each campsite. The campground stays relatively cool due to the creek and to the shade given by a canopy of fir, maple and pine. Three nearby trails lead to lovely waterfalls. The cool, clear waters of Whiskeytown Lake provide endless water activities. The picturesque mountain setting and extensive forested backcountry offer ample opportunities for hiking and biking.
Recreation
During the summer heat, swimming, kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding and water skiing are popular on the 3,200 acre lake. Year round, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, gold panning, fishing and picnicking attract visitors. Hunting is allowed in the appropriate season.

This campground, located 17 miles north of Weaverville, CA, off Highway 2, is situated on the Stuart Fork Arm of Trinity Lake. Minersville is one of the more popular campgrounds on Trinity Lake due to its easy access to the lake and scenic views. At 2,400 foot elevation, it is nestled in a stand of mixed conifers and deciduous trees. Trinity Lake is one of three Forest Service-managed lakes in the Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area, offering excellent opportunities for houseboating, water skiing, tubing and wakeboarding.
Recreation
The area offers excellent opportunities for fishing, kayaking, hiking and wildlife viewing. Directly adjacent to the campground is the Minersville Boat Ramp. Informal mooring of boats is possible off some of the campsites. Rainbow trout are abundant, and brown and brook trout are common. This is a good lake for a float tube and excellent fly fishing. The area offers wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities. Hikers can access the 4-mile Trinity Lakeshore Trail at nearby Clark Springs Campground.

Many campsites are located on the bank of Trinity Lake with views of the Trinity Alps, noted for their scenic views and alpine environment. Drive in and group camp spots with some sites right off the lake (though some spots had rocky beaches). Pretty views of the lake! Bathrooms, trash, and yurts available.

Simple NFS campground
We stayed 2 nights in late October and were the only campers beside the host. There are 2 pull thru sites (10 & 12), we stayed in 10 in our 40' coach with tow. Flush toilets in 2 different buildings, no soap or hot water at the sinks, however. All sites have a nice picnic table and fire pit. Lots of water spigots throughout the campground but they don't have threads to allow a hose to hookup. There are also a few decent size garbage bins that are bear proof. Maybe it's the time of the year or lack of campers but the host wasn't ever seen. Lots of sites had litter here & there and the fire pits contained the previous camper's trash. Garbage bins were nearly full. The trees over the main road need trimming, lots of branches scratching the motorhome roof unnecessarily. Lake Shasta was really low so we didn't attempt to scramble down to the water. $25/night without discounts for a basic site. Yurts are more. 50% discount for golden or access National pass.

Large pull-thru sites with vegetation in between. Casino nearby has multiple restaurants and entertainment, including golf. Cheap gas for California. Little bit of a hike to clean restrooms. Quiet. Convenient location for traveling down I-5.

Exactly what I was looking for
Your mileage may vary. I was looking for a primitive campsite that was quiet and secluded. This fit the bill 100%. I hammock camp, using a stand when trees aren't available, and I am completely self contained. That being said, these sites are equipped with a pit toilet, fire rings, picnic tables, and a food locker to deter the bears. I put my food in the locker, and I'm very glad I did. About 3am something woke me up sniffing around my hammock. I was not able to see it without moving, but it bumped me and was large enough to make the hammock sway. So, be prepared there is wildlife out there.

Beautiful, Quiet & Friendly
We loved ending our weeklong road trip here! This hidden gem was a lucky find! The grounds were beautiful, and included a small waterfall & koi pond, and a play structure for the littles.
The property managers were extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful. The amenities were exceptionally clean, and the sites themselves were tidy with all the necessary hookups. Free WiFi provided, and laundry room on site as well.
We honestly didn’t want to leave.

Refreshing staff, pull thru’s, and quiet, even though the freeway isn’t too far away. Little store with stuff. At the time it was fire season & Covid, so bathrooms were closed. Good for overnight stop while traveling south.

Disgusting
My family and I were recently evacuated from my home due to a wildfire. We are fortunate enough to have an RV and were able to get to an evacuation area. After staying a few days in the evacuation zone, we needed to refill our water and empty our tanks so I visited Boulder Creek.
I offered to pay for some water and for use of their dump station. I was immediately met with the following statement by their front desk employee: “It’s 20 bucks to dump and I don’t do water fills.”
I’ve met some of the kindest and most gracious people during this incident, but I was disgusted as I walked out and noticed the freshly watered little planters full of flowers and the lack of humanity or even an attempt at kindness shown by Boulder Creek’s employees.
I highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Redding to find somewhere else.

The camp ground was beautiful. Pretty close to the water, however, this year summer 2021 the water is very low. The camp ground offers bathrooms, bear boxes, very nice fire rings and clean water. There is no camp host so bring your own wood. The fee is $25 a night. The trash cans were over flowed and there was bags of trash outside of the garbage. Please don’t do this)-:
Weird vibes: when we pulled up there was only one other truck there. They were two people yelling at each other pretty loud so that was kinda awkward but, nothing crazy. Then we set up our tent and other car came to the spot next to ours and checked the bear box and was walking around the spot. They moved parked at another spot and did the same thing. I’m not sure if they left something or what was going on but, they just walked around to each site checking the bear box’s??
Not sure if I would return unless more people were there because I felt uncomfortable leaving my tent and things there unattended.

Just a couple sites and some trash cans , this wildwood area is super nice there are lots of caves and rock formations. Natural bridge is 5 miles or so up the road to the left.I definitely have to go there !

Nice, small campground near the edge of Trinity Lake. Approximately 8 campsites can be reserved and 8 are available on a first come, first serve basis. There are no showers available, but there are showers at the nearby Bushytail campground up the road. Site 1 is the only site with electric hookups. The nearby lakeshore is quite muddy (depending upon water level), but provides great fishing and boating opportunities. A nice trail runs along the campground. There is no wifi or cellular coverage. Booking the site was a little confusing because the website noted "dry camping" - we did not know what to expect based on this description. However, there IS running drinking water and bathrooms with flush toilets and sinks on-site. Advise picking up firewood before arrival. There is no firewood available for purchase on-site. However, you are able to gather available wood. There is also a small store which sells firewood 10-15 minutes away (Pinewood Cove).

Hidden out of the way little gem. The campground has only eight sites. The restrooms are clean and showers are available at a neighboring campground. Right now the lake is so low you really can’t get to it. But it’s great just to hang out in peace and quiet. Be sure to download directions, hiking trails info or anything else you might need. There is no cell service anywhere near the campground!

Relaxed, rustic, and fun
I really liked this rustic little campground. The owner was nice and the grounds were simple and naturally pretty. Unexpectedly, there was a little place to play a game of pool. It was very quiet, and nice and dark for sleeping. I went traipsing around and found my way to Shasta Lake. If you do the same, watch out for poison oak! Oh, yeah and I forgot to say - the showers weren't fancy but the water was hot, and there was a big sink for doing your dishes.

Pretty campsite marred by rude campers
I wanted to love this place. Simple, pretty, quiet ( at least at check in) but 1 am, a group of partiers ruined the experience with loud kids, loud adults and loud dogs as if it was 1 pm and not 1 am and shouting at each other as if they were a football field away and not just a few feet. They camped no where near me and yet I could hear them, clear as day. They were left unchecked and it really ruined the stay.
