I started my journey up at Shasta lake, but was driven out by bees. I sought several other locations but decided Trinity was a worthwhile shot. I quickly made an online reservation, paid the holding fee, got there 4 hours early because I needed to just land instead of driving aimlessly, and the staff was so accommodating! They allowed me to stay in the parking lot while my site was being prepared, and they even let me in an hour and half earlier than check in! My spot was easy and accessible, close to bathrooms and showers, near the front store which had everything I needed, including coffee, a short walk to the lake, and a view of stars you don’t see very often. I came for solitude, but found comfort in neighbors who have a mutual love and respect for these great outdoors. I even shared a meal with my neighbor! This is an incredible place and very well maintained grounds. Staff are driving around quite literally into the night hours keeping things clean. Thanks Trinity KAO Holiday! I will be seeing you again!
This was day one of a 20 day cruise! We were more than happy to escape the 110’ temps down in the valley. The campground was cramped as it was the 4th of July holiday. Sites are really packed together!
The micro-canal that runs through it was great for our lab. He just loved tramping in and out. The nights were cool - almost chilly.
Of note: the water is great! Pure and cold. However, it is high pressure. It exploded our water hose! After that we learned to place our pressure regulator valve right on the faucet. Then attach the hose and filter.
We enjoyed the pizza and beer at the little micro-brewery at the entrance to the park. They are no longer brewing their own beer and they hope to sell the place soon. Pizza was excellent.
A great place for kids, bikes, and dogs.
Best advice: book this at least 2 months in advance
I was warned in advance by several other friends who’ve been here before not to go because the owners can be real jerks. I should have listened. The thing you should be most aware of is that no matter what anyone says, their response will always be: We didn’t do anything because you didn’t tell us about anything and if you told us about it, we would take care of it, we will fix it. You can see that on the reviews when they respond. My answer: BULL. No one wants to have a conversation with them because they are difficult people. The husband owner is a sneak, who only wants to film your“violations” to use against you, if needed later. In my case, filming me while he woke me up in my trailer early in the morning. The wife is a confrontational Gaslighter, who will bounce up onto you, get in your face, put her hands in your face and keep elevating her voice until you go away. Then, they can always use all the recorded footage of you as retribution. Go look at their YouTube channel. They’re openly doing this to people that disagree with them. You can see they actually get off on having the confrontation, recording it,(of course not recording THEIR part of the conversations, the part that got people pissed off, just the part where they have now pissed somebody else off) and then they’ll post it in violation of everyone’s privacy. I own up to my mistake but am not happy with how it was handled, and there’s no way I’m taking it up with them because I figure my being filmed while I wake up will end up on the Internet. My issue is that I brought one mini trailer and one teardrop trailer in a spot(together they’re 26 feet) where Class A and 40ft 5th wheels go. Logically, I’m using less space and less electricity(120 v plugged into our bigger trailer who is plugged into the park) no water, and only have 2 people(total) in site as opposed to the 10 people in the 38 ft trailer next to us, or the six guys with three cars and a boat trailer next to us, or the class 40 ft class a with an enclosed utility trailer that is bigger than my teardrop, but I was sleeping in my extra tow(hence the invader’s spycam to catch me sleeping). So, instead of talking to us about it, they just charged us for an extra site. The gaslighting wife said she emailed me. No she didn’t. She billed me the extra space(without my consent) and her system sent me an invoice, which took you to a site for the terms and conditions. But I’m not checking my email because I’m camping and it looked like the normal invoice I would’ve gotten anyway for the one site…so we don’t find any of this out until after noon—the cutoff to be non refundable. Keep in mind these owners are camping abut 20 feet from me. Why didn’t they just come over and talk to us? If they had, we would have said we disagreed but understood and packed up and leave instead of getting charged two sites again for the night. Instead, they let their office person tell this after 12, and we were past the refund cut off. While I support a business owner’s right to enforce their rules, even if only against us, It should have been discussed with us face-to-face. I mean, if you’re willing to pound on someone’s trailer before they’ve woken up in the morning, and film them in bed as they wake up to open their door, then you know where we are and you know how to get our attention. They took our choice away. They took our privacy away. And they paint themselves as the good guy on these reviews and on their YouTube channel where they are openly enjoying kicking people out of their park. Otherwise, it was an ugly park. Looks nice upfront, but the back sites are horrible. I got burned with scalding water trying to get water for my dog. I got splinters from these god-awful looking tables. There’s a pile of debris right behind us. They run heavy machinery all day. God knows what they’re doing with all the footage they’ve illegally collected over the years. Note to owners: YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO POST MY IMAGE OR LIKENESS ONLINE.
The campground is fairly nice. No functional bear lockers (camp host said there haven’t been bears here in over 9 years). The bathrooms (flush toilets) were clean. Weirdly, most of the campsites were vacant, but the online reservations showed that most of the sites were booked. We had a large noisy group next to us the first night. Otherwise it was quiet. The trail to the falls (Falls Loop Trail) was closed for repairs, which we knew when we booked. Not the nicest place we’ve been but not the worst. Probably won’t stay there again.
This is the first time I used the Dyrt mapping app and I believed I had searched it for a free campsite. I was horrified ro learn the rate for 1 x person in a all Class B is $91 and $20 to empty black water, if not staying
Your mileage may vary. I was looking for a primitive campsite that was quiet and secluded. This fit the bill 100%. I hammock camp, using a stand when trees aren't available, and I am completely self contained. That being said, these sites are equipped with a pit toilet, fire rings, picnic tables, and a food locker to deter the bears. I put my food in the locker, and I'm very glad I did. About 3am something woke me up sniffing around my hammock. I was not able to see it without moving, but it bumped me and was large enough to make the hammock sway. So, be prepared there is wildlife out there.
This camp grounds was peaceful and beautiful.
Most site were very level. I stayed in #49. It was perfectly shaded. The staff is friendly, the amenities are clean.
Verizon - no coverage. I had to go to their public wifi at their visitor center.

We stumbled across it when all the campgrounds in the national forest and national park for closed for the season and what a nice surprise. They had a little grocery store with ice cream..we had some ice cream. It was delicious.
They had the cutest little resort with little cabins, yurts and spots for a camper or big RV. They had a volleyball court, cornhole and a basketball area. Great little spot! We would absolutely come back. Internet on my phone was hit or miss outside. They offered internet for a cheap price. $1.95 a day. 12 minute drive to Park entrance. Otherwise, you are in the middle of nowhere. 20 minutes to a grocery store. Beautiful spot!
Stayed 2 nights, August 17 and 18 in B22, Loop B. This is a smaller campground that contains 2 Loops, A & B. We could see a bit of the lake from our site through the trees. No hookups although drinking water is offered as well as restrooms. Campgrounds are well maintained with bear lockers and rv sites ample. Road into the park as well as rv sites can accommodate big rigs. Generator hours are a bit odd although the only time we needed it was briefly in the morning to fix meals. Clouds drifted in about 2:00 p.m. each day with some sprinkles for about 1/2 hour keeping temps cool. Wonderful stay! Definitely would come back - picked out our preferred site already!
Only $55 for a full hookup that’s a pull through. $50 for Good Sam Members. We came in too late to enjoy the comedy shows they have every first Saturday. If you happen to make it on time, “Carlinos” or the place the host it is in the North Tower. Go right at the main entrance. We missed it by wandering around the casino trying to find it. There are also amazing views at sunset and sunrise if you get to the lots closer to the end- which we didn’t. Great front desk staff! They also have routine patrol security.
Laundry: $2.00 for washing machines and $1.00 for dryers. Must be done by 10 pm with the last load starting at 8 pm.
Showers: $15/person- not included in RV fee
Dump station: $10- only from 9am- 5 pm, although each site has sewer hookups.

Overall we had a nice time! The sites are first come, first serve and it was $18/night. We came on Fri 7/28 at 6pm and there were still sites available. We found fire wood there around the campsite. The bathrooms were portable bathrooms. The regular vault toilets were locked. There were people in golf carts making sure you paid. It was very quiet but you can occasionally hear cars from the highway. Our site was pretty big but has limited parking to one maybe two cars. Would definitely stay here again!
Showers ($1 bills only), fire pits, and FCFS sites, as well as a friendly campground host. Beautiful spot right on the lake. Mosquitos and bees so bring bug spray.
This place has the tightest spots ever! Feel like a sardine. It’s pretty but would never spend $80 to smash in with other campers!
This campground was well maintained and the sites were large. Ample access to water spigots throughout the sites. Bathrooms were standard with flush toilets. A short walk to the falls made it very accessible. Would recommend driving to the lake due to the length of the walk and elevation to return back. Not much else to do in the area. There is a campground store where they also sell hot food and overpriced supplies if needed.
This campground is very spacious with lots of trees for shade which was great since we I went when it was extremely hot. The owner was very nice and got us situated right away. I will definitely be coming back!
I can't rate on even being able to stay but simply based on a phone call. We had filled out their form on their website to try and book and they never responded back. We tried calling and the gentleman was very rude. He said long sites werent available which I get. But when we asked for a shorter site and a spot to park our car hauler he wouldnt even look. He had the adaucity to say well your a few weeks put Reservations change check back. I get if you dont have anything available but he didn't even look. This guy definitely doesnt want business.
Fire hit this area hard and lots of burned trees and logging going on in the area. We used to come here a lot but its depressing to see so much destruction and hazardous trees. Most of our family doesn't want to stay up here anymore. Nice to have the stream near by but we always filtered the water from the creek.
Really nice campground with great facilities and friendly staff. Right beside a casino, so you can pay for your camping and then lose all your money next door. No wifi or cable, but networks are strong.
Large pull-thru sites with vegetation in between. Casino nearby has multiple restaurants and entertainment, including golf. Cheap gas for California. Little bit of a hike to clean restrooms. Quiet. Convenient location for traveling down I-5.
I stay here a lot as I pass through. Every single time there has been a methhead staying who is a ranting and raving lunatic dropping f-bombs this and m-fer that for the whole campground to hear. If they stopped taking cash it would fix a lot of problems separating vagrants from true nomads.
We used Rolling Hills as a stop over on our voyage from Oregon to Arizona. We stayed one night. The park is CLEAN, Quiet, the sites level, The Park staff are helpful. The park is on the campus of a casino with multiple eating establishments. A Fuel station/truck stop in also on the ground.. I should be more generous in my ratings, but to get five stars the park needs mature trees. Guess I spent too much of my life in Oregon
I wanted to love this place. Simple, pretty, quiet ( at least at check in) but 1 am, a group of partiers ruined the experience with loud kids, loud adults and loud dogs as if it was 1 pm and not 1 am and shouting at each other as if they were a football field away and not just a few feet. They camped no where near me and yet I could hear them, clear as day. They were left unchecked and it really ruined the stay.
My wife and I and two dogs stayed at campsite 51. Wonderful site with hook ups. easy to find and loved the proximity to the PCT.
We stayed here two nights after spending one night at the larger Manzanita Lake CG.
The are two loops and about 40 sites. There is also a South Summit Lake CG. We stayed at A5 for 2 nights in the north CG. Not the best site, but the place was full by night fall. We were near the helpful host and near the restrooms with flush toilets, no showers. The CG is about halfway point on the park road, so convenient for visiting the trails and vistas.
We walked around the lake one evening and saw some interesting wild flowers. Drove the road to the visitor center near the south entrance a couple times to see all the volcanic features.
We love this site, great hiking trails/4x4 trail. Last night tho 3 guy’s on dirt bikes rode right thru our campsite & a few other campers around 11:00 pm & almost ran over our 2 Pomeranians. Be careful especially if you have children!
The train follows the river so it is as quiet as can be expected in a train town
