Many campers appreciated the beautiful creek running through the campground and the basic amenities including toilets and running water. Sites are fairly level with summer access to Whitney Portal facilities, though the approach requires a good climb for vehicles.

Great place to start your Whitney Climb

Great spot to spend the night before your climb, sites fairly level but getting to it is a good climb for your vehicle. Whitney Portal open during Summer months with store and restaurant, sites very close but overall canyon is a bit narrow so real estate limited.

Beautiful

I really liked the creek that flows through the campground. The rain did not stop the entire time I was there. Amenities were normal, not more or less than the standard. Just beautiful ! Definitely an 8 out of ten.
