The Best Camping Near Cedarpines Park, California

Stayed a couple nights here. The staff are all really nice and the campsites were very clean. Flush toilets and hot showers are available for 4 quarvters for every two minutes. Full hookups are available in one campsite for 55 a night. Parking is very limited. At the full hookup campsites you have two small spots, and one spot at the tent camping sites. Also you can't keep your boat and trailer at the marina which still blows my mind. They could make so much money off a nightly fee for parking there. Marina has 4 slips for rent at 15 a night. 

Supppsedly your not allowed to have dogs on the beaches, but they were everywhere. I have never seen so many dogs at a lake before. And many off leash with owners oblivious to what they are doing. 

15 minute limit for tying off at the boat ramp which is ignored and not enforced. Launching and retrieving boats was a nightmare because of the jet skies that are docked and left there. No one could tie their boats off to get their trailers. We sat for an hour with a group of other boats all waiting for pickup and 5 jet skies were parked there the whole time. Oh and don't forget the people fishing from the launch ramp standing by the no fishing signs. 

People ignore the no wake zone and in three days we only saw one boat get called out on it. 

Then there's the kids that throw rocks in the water where people are fishing and the jerks on the shore yelling at anyone fishing from a boat in the coves. 

It really is a nice lake and campground or would be if the rangers had better rule enforcement in place. 

Beautiful lake, nice campsites, lax rule enforcement 

We reserved 2 sites next to each other for 1 night. It was a very quick trip. We had very nice camping spots with adequate hookups. Nice and shaded. It appears they are building a new facility of some sort but, it was not yet finished when we were there. Still a little too cold to get into the water, but others were swimming at the beach area and in spite of the wind, it was a good trip. The lanes are rather small and the campsites we were in did not accommodate a vehicle and a trailer which means your parking in the lane and this makes for some congestion. Especially, if your neighbors have 2 vehicles and a boat they want to park by their rig.

Great camping spot! Close to the lake and you can rent fishing boats and jet ski's and have party's by the water.

Beautiful and peaceful

Nice campground with flush toilets. ATV with ice cream and firewood comes around right before dark. Campsites are a bit crowded for my liking. Access to the Silverwood Lake recreation area is a great benefit. Small market is on site at the recreation area and the beaches are not smooth sand, but are fine to walk on.

Expensive trashy sites, fire pits were too full of ashes to use, garbage literally everywhere, bathrooms were gross despite park personnel going in and out of them all day. Staff seemed to be pretty indifferent when I called to report that a kid was shooting a BB gun across my campsite. I had to drive away from my site for safety. We will never stay there again. (To be fair the superintendent of Silverwood did apologize, made a lot of excuses, but did refund our money despite having a no-refund policy)

One of the worst Campgrounds we have stayed in

I’ve stayed here twice, the first time all the sites were booked the second time it was pretty empty. Both times, neighboring campers were blasting music. Not just a little loud, but so loud I felt the bass two loops away. Park rangers don’t patrol the sites as far as I can tell but if your intent is to party with some friends while camping this is the place for you. There isn’t easy access to the lake, I think you have to either drive down or take a really long walk. Most sites have a lot of shade, all sites have a picnic table and fire pit. If I ever want to have a party camping trip, I’d likely go here. But if you’re camping for peace and quiet, this may not be what you want.

Each campsite here is pretty private and has a lot of shade. Close to the lake but we had to walk down a bit to go swimming. Some sites are smaller than others but it was only the two of us so everything worked out well. 
Park rangers here were very helpful, fun to talk to, and offered other suggestions for the coming camping weekends if I didn’t want to stay here again. Sites were 45 dollars or 10 for parking and 35 for the site. One vehicle included in the stay. 

Private sites and helpful staff

Came here during covid because we thought this might be a good way to social distance. Boy were we wrong! These campsite are so close together it feels like you are sharing. Almost every site was booked as well so that didn’t help anything. We only ended up staying 1 night of the 3 booked because we couldn’t handle the crowds. They did end up refunding us for the 2 nights which was very nice. I thinking even under normal circumstances l, I wouldn’t come back. This place might be great for families or the novice camper that wants a few modern conveniences(There are pretty clean bathrooms and pay showers) but it definitely doesn’t feel like you are out camping in the woods. The whole area just felt like one big RV park. 

Not my cup of tea

We really enjoyed this campsite. We did go from Sunday through Wednesday and not only was it not crowded but it was nearly empty. Apparently the weekends are quite full.

We stayed in campsite 108 (which had full hookups) and did not feel that the campsites were too close to one another. There were other campers there when we arrived but by Tuesday we had the whole area to ourselves.

Each campsite has a nice picnic table and fire pit with a grill.

We brought our bikes but there was not a whole lot of area to go bike riding. A bit too hilly for us to ride over to the boat launch area but we did drive over there to see the sights.

All of the staff here are incredibly nice and helpful. We spoke to many of them and they seem genuinely happy that people are there. 
The bathroom facilities were immaculate.

Rangers are eager to answer questions and I learned a bit about the bald eagles in the area from one of them.

T-Mobile cellular signal was fine. No Wi-Fi.

Really nice, large campsites. Full hookups, no Wi-Fi at the RV campsite, The cell service was good and my hot spot provided 4G internet. The only negative is the fact the lake is not visible from any of the RV sites.

Nice high desert oasis

Clean air, serenading sounds of birds and winds blowing through the green brush and tall beautiful trees. Silverwood Lake was just that. Lush green mountains in the back drop that surrounded every view you turned to take in. "You need to recharge your batteries!" Those were the words my wife told me the day before. Boy, did I come to the right place for that. It was a last minute unplanned trip. Thankfully I had not forgotten how to pack and prepare for something like this, even though the last time I retreated for the mountains to "recharge my batteries" had been over 8 years! With no reservation I was assisted by the amazing and very friendly Park Rangers at the entrance of the site. I got real lucky with a "first come first serve" spot and it was perfect for my 9 year old son and I (this would be his first time camping). My kiddo was filled with questions about the area and the animals. He really enjoyed the tranquility of nature, and also being miles away from his loud and temperamental 3 year old sibling lol. After setting up we took a walk and explored the area and beautiful scenery. There are many look outs nearby where you can sit for a moment and take in the splendor that Silverwood Lake offers. The view of the lake and the mountains and trees under a purple dusk sky was exactly the moment I hoped my son could experience just as I did 8 years ago. The following day we had a wonderful breakfast and went down to the lake. Everyone was so friendly, and courteous there. It was like we did not want to leave. We really enjoyed our time and surroundings there. I highly recommend this park for families or if you're camping solo too. Silverwood Lake is my refuge for peace of mind and relaxation. And yes, I returned home with my batteries at 100%.

Easy site for a quick family camping trip. Great access for young children to play in the reservoir.

My Church choir stayed here for a retreat. We had a blast with view of the lake, just walking distance from our camp. Lots of trees and paved roads for bikes. Facilities were great too. Will surely visit this place again.

The last two times I went to Silverwood I was REALLY disappointed. Loud people and parties until 2am couldn't sleep. Large groups with loud speakers! Rented a boat, wow the man was rude. Will NOT be going back.

I loved 

Our experience was super chill since it was mid-week in February. However, I walked the campgrounds and realized the place might be a nightmare during busy periods. It’s a cool spot, but the sites are really crammed together. 

Our site was sick because it overlooks the little valley without any interference. It’s not entirely level once you leave the pavement but not a deal breaker either.

Fine for social campers 

Family of 5 with little ones. We stayed there for 2 nights. It was on ok campground. The downfall was that you had to drive to the lake from the campsite. It isn’t walking distance so if you had an RV you were pretty much stuck at the campsite. Campsites we’re nothing amazing either, uneven site and wasn’t able to use awning because of the high winds. Overall an okay trip. 


Ok campground

Was a last minute camp spot due to bad planning on my part but the campground during holiday is a nightmare. The lake and views are nice. Spots are crammed and you often see people walking through your site. Many campers don’t adhere to the quiet hours. I would much rather have a pit toilet than any of the bathrooms at the campsite. Would recommend only during the off season.

Amazing place to be in Summers

Just had the best weekend even with the 3 bears that decided to come by. Group of 30 . Definitely a good time. Be careful with the bears! 😮‍💨🥰🏕️

Fun for groups!

This is a really nice campground with some great trails. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Nice hot showers but bring quarters and don't use the handicap one if you like a full on body spray. The ranger and county officer that we ran into were very friendly and answered all of our questions. Nice fire pits, level pads, and clean campground made this girls, holiday, camping adventure one of the best yet! 
If you get time, drive into Crestline for a coffee and danish. It's a wonderful mountain town.
