Overview
Gateway to the Petrified Forest RV Resort is a privately owned RV park located at 7551 Ramada Rd in Holbrook, Arizona, approximately 22 miles from Petrified Forest National Park and with easy access from I-40. The property was purchased in October 2022 and rebranded from High Plains RV Park; the current owners have been making ongoing upgrades including completed permanent ADA-accessible restrooms and a common area with BBQ grills and picnic tables. It serves primarily as a base camp for travelers exploring Petrified Forest National Park, the Painted Desert, and Route 66.
Facilities
The park offers 38 sites with full hookups including 20/30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections. A permanent bathhouse with restrooms is on site, with one unit specifically designed for guests with physical disabilities. A dumpster is provided for trash. Pull-through sites accommodate large rigs. A camp host is on site during office hours (9:00 am–7:00 pm MST).
Recreation
