Description
This flat desert pull-off sits just south of I-8 near Tacna on the Barry M. Goldwater Range, a vast military training area in southwestern Arizona's low Sonoran desert. The access road — loose, rutted washboard sand — is passable for most vehicles in dry conditions but becomes treacherous when wet; soft-sand caution is warranted regardless. A free permit with a 14-consecutive-day limit is required to camp here; a left turn before the DoD boundary keeps you clear of adjacent land posted with unexploded ordnance warnings.
