    Valdez Glacier

    Quiet stay

Quiet place to stay minus the planes taking off randomly. Loved not having service. And loved the waterfall in the campground

    Great for location

Tent camping review. Being in the middle of a small city, this place was great. It's proximity to everything was extremely convenient. The tent sites aren't huge but there's plenty of privacy between them (I can't remember what site we picked but we were in shoulder season and the only ones there). The showers were hot and bathrooms were clean. Available coin laundry is also a bonus (even though we didn't need to use them). I believe the sites usually have a fire ring and picnic table but we were there when they were getting ready to close. The campground owner did warn us of a black bear that had been wandering around the campground. There was scat and we did hear him one night but didn't have any problems sharing the space with him.

    Adult Tenting

Awesome tenting area! Lots of shaded spots by the road, but if you’re willing to walk in, the spots on the hill are fantastic! I had the entire hill to myself and took the spot at the very top which had great views of town and the sea. All the walk-in spots have picnic tables, fire rings, and tent pads. Adult only area has its own bathrooms with free showers. Laundry is $3 each to wash and dry and is also on site. The bunnies are just the icing on the cake. Great tent camping!

    Worth the $$

From a previous scouting trip my parents stayed here one night and LOVED it.  We recommend that they stay in a parking lot area after our Bugpocalypse a few weeks prior.  They reported no bugs here.  The spot was reserved it in advance and the reservation requests the side the RVs slides are on.  You are greeted by a golf cart on arrival they show you to your spot and directed you in so that they would have no issues using their slides.  The views of Valdez are amazing no matter where you go.  There is a tent area in the center and this park is close to everything.   These are full hook ups and if you remember a cable you can get cable TV too.  There is a huge area to walk your furry travel buddies as well.  If you are staying Valdez this is an excellent choice.   Cell Service: Yes Internet: Yes 2020 Cost: $41-$61 RVs Distance from Anchorage: 308 miles Bug Factor (1 minimal to 10 too many to enjoy): 1

    Overgrown but has showers

With sun all day and night it is very hard to keep the wilderness from taking back spaces. The spots were big but the mosquitoes were terrible. Camping here early on the season would have been better.

Great bathroom/shower facility. Waterfall on the campground across from the trash dump. Prices are the same as state camping so you might as well get a shower and flush toilet out of it. Close drive to Glacier View Park.

    No bugs

This is a parking lot and the spots are tight. However the city is set in such a beautiful place it’s hard to complain.

Close to all the amenities you could want. Make sure to enjoy the waterfalls on the way in.

    Wished I was tent camping

This is an amazing place especially if you are tent camping. The other spots close by are parking lots or overgrown buggy areas. Close to hiking trails I would try this spot before any others.

    Best tent camping!

This spot is AWESOME! The tent sites are centrally located, but the location feels super private. The tent sites have access to laundry, good drinking water, dish washing, bathrooms, HOT showers(!), fire rings, picnic tables, and some spots even have platforms for tents. Each spot is enclosed with foliage. There are stairs up to the spots, so do know that before bringing heavy items, but it’s totally worth it. We stayed three nights and I will definitely be back.

    Valdez Glacier

    Breathtaking Views

Gorgeous views of mountains and glacier abound. This campground is by far the best in Valdez if you want woods and not waterfront. Previously military only, now everyone is welcome. Pavilion and day use area, showers and restrooms of course. Also RV site with hookups and lots without. Tent sites too. Tons of sites to choose from your bound to find the perfect one for you. Lots of pull through sites for larger rigs, firewood for purchase $8 so grab it before you come. Nice deep sites with plenty of wood coverage for privacy. Only downside is that it is a bit far from downtown but close to the Valdez Glacier and Lake access. Sorry for the watery pictures I waited till we were headed out to take them and it had started raining my then.

    Eagle's Rest RV Park

    Third best in Valdez

After checking out all the campgrounds for RV's in Valdez this would be ranked as #3 for us. Tight spots, awning to awning, make it lack privacy and being a large gravel area has it lacking in charm. There are full hookups and ut backs up against the gas station and grocery store so convenient in that way. All the RV campgrounds in town are within walking distance to the docks so choose wisely.

    Friendly Campground in Valdez ,AK

We only planned on staying here a few days but ended up staying a week. They have full hook up sites. Walking distance to town and grocery store . They were very friendly and clean & safe camping. They keep the bears out and provide free coffee .

    Everything You Need!

This campground was exactly what we were looking for. It is conveniently located in town within walking distance of the grocery stores, restaurants, and harbor. Surrounded by gorgeous mountains you will wake up with beautiful views of the sunrise over the mountains. There were not many campers here when we stayed, but I think this place fills up during the tourist season and fishing season. There is also a station to clean the fish you caught. Showers are available as part of the expenses. We opted for tent camping in the green in the middle of the rv park, but they also have cabins for rent and hookups for rvs.

    Camping in campers

We stayed in one of the campers it was dirty when we first got there meaning someone forgot to sweep. But for the price and the location it was great!! It was a beautiful setting nice and quiet. We were there with family and enjoyed it. There were black bears wondering around but we didn't get to see any.

    Gotta Love Glaciers

Visited on one of my last days in Valdez. Beautiful glacier. The campground is pretty standard and pleasant. Would highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

    Valdez Glacier

Large Campground with a variety of sites

With over 100 basic sites to choose from, you should be able to find a site to suit your needs. Some sites are closer together and some are a bit farther apart. When we visited in the summer, it was pretty quite and we had a lot of sites to choose from. It is a bit outside of town, but worth staying there.

    Quiet, clean, and showers!

Large, Clean and quiet campground with plenty of outhouses spread throughout so you don't have to walk too far in the middle of the night. Trees separate each lot and provide privacy and beauty. The campground is about 4 miles from town which also adds to the feeling of privacy. Showers are available! Though there's usually a line because, you know, free hot shower at a campground.
