⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ June Creek Rest Area – A Hidden Little Camping Spot

This turned out to be a surprisingly great little overnight stop in Alaska! From the main parking area, head down below and you’ll find two campsites tucked away from the highway, each with a picnic table and fire pit. Being down below the parking lot helps get you away from the road noise and makes it feel much more like an actual campsite than a rest area.

Of course, this is Alaska, so the mosquitoes apparently got the memo that we were coming. 😂 Bring the bug spray!

We also spotted claw marks on several trees around camp, so there’s definitely bear activity in the area. Keep a clean campsite, store your food properly, and stay bear aware.

Overall, a really cool little find for an overnight stop—quiet, tucked away, and a lot better than simply sleeping next to the highway. Just remember: bug spray and bear awareness are mandatory equipment in Alaska! 🦟🐻🏕️
