Isabel Pass Dispersed — Richardson Highway (AK 4)

Description

At roughly 3,300 feet in the Alaska Range near Isabel Pass, this broad flat expanse off the Richardson Highway corridor sits on the old TAPS pipeline staging area — a former airstrip that has given way to an open, informal camping ground with plenty of room for any size rig. Multiple fire rings are scattered across the site, and the glacier views draw overnighters well into late summer and fall. Expect company during hunting season and holiday weekends; the rest of the time it's quiet and wide open.
