Along the Dalton Highway in Yukon-Koyukuk, Five Mile Campground sits on BLM land managed by the Central Yukon Field Office and functions essentially as an open dirt lot. The layout is flat and spacious, with room for large rigs despite the basic setup. Campers report that it draws less traffic than nearby stops like Coldfoot, and mid-summer visits have seen only a handful of groups at once. Picnic tables, fire rings, and a water fill station are on-site, with restrooms that have been open into mid-September. Five Mile - Dalton Hwy is a close alternative just down the road. The BLM season runs May through September, so plan accordingly if traveling late in the fall.
