Roland Cooper State Park is a beautiful, peaceful campground on the Alabama River in Southwest Alabama. It has 55 RV sites, 15 primitive sites, 12 fully furnished cabins, 2 primitive cabins run from a generator (between hours 6 am-12 pm) a pavilion, boat launch, and Day Use Area. All RV sites have water, electricity, and sewer. The river is well-known for the great fishing. It is also a great place to kayak and canoe. The roads leading to the campground are paved and all sites are level and on a paved pad. Each campsite has a fire pit and a picnic table. There are 4 bathrooms, all are heated, 2 bathrooms have showers with hot water and flush toilets. A dump station is located in the campground at no charge to those who are camping. There are two hiking and biking trails within the campground.

All RV sites come with full hookup, which includes water, electricity, and sewer. All campsites have a paved level pad, and a fire ring with grill top. Activities include, but are not limited to, basketball, fishing, picknicking, volleyball, and corn hole, which are free to all campers.

Roland Cooper State Park

Gunter Hill Campground offers a peaceful scene of trees and nature on the backwaters of the Alabama River. The fishing is excellent, providing challenges for the master angler as well as the occasional cane pole fisherman. Boating, hunting and hiking are popular activities. Recreation The area's waterways offer excellent fishing for crappie, bass and catfish. A boat ramp is provided for easy river access. The Lowndes Wildlife Management area, located nearby, covers 12,500 acres and offers prime hunting for whitetail deer, wild turkeys and hogs, and a variety of small game and waterfowl. The campground provides a basketball court and playground, offering additional recreation opportunities for visitors. Facilities This year-round campground offers 142 sites with electric hookups. Sites 1-75 are newly renovated sites and have concrete pads and sewer. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station and laundry facilities. A picnic shelter is provided for parties and family functions. Natural Features The campground is situated on Catoma Creek in a forest of hickory and pine. Nestled beneath a thicket of pines, you will find our 30 AMP campground that includes water and electricity. Upon the hill overlooking the 30 AMP campground and pavilion area, you can also find our 50 AMP campground. It includes a good supply of water, electricity, and sewage.

At Boggs & Boulders, we also offer camper and bunkhouse rentals. Currently, we have rentals that sleep eight to twelve people.
