Great cheap campground

We go here often because it is only $3 a night. The only downside is no cell service (I guess that is good for some, but not everyone).

Nice pull through

Narrow twisting roads lead to the lower level camping area, nice pull through, wish there was more information about local attractions. We stayed 3 nights very quiet camp site. I appreciate the improvements in the Campground. Everyone we encountered was very nice and friendly. No cell service or…

Camping with amenities

Cheaha was such a pleasant surprise. More like a resort, this park had tent camping, RV camping, a pool, a lake, cabins, a playground, and a restaurant with a view. We had a little trouble with the upper tent sites not being level because we have a roof top tent, but we were able to switch our site…

Great place for family fun

This is a great place for families to come for a fun time. They have plenty of activities to keep the kids busy. There’s a kiddie pool and a big kid pool, a jump pad and an inflatable slide, a nice playground, and a small arcade that’s affordable. The office staff is great and helpful. The only…

Back again, 3rd time.

We came for the memorial day weekend and the week afterwards. The park was full but also still peaceful and quiet in the primitive camping area.

Quiet little park

The park is relatively small but it’s very well kept. Small rigs can pretty much enjoy any spot but larger rigs need to be sure that the site is level for the length of the rig. Some spots have a driveway that goes downhill from the camper and others go uphill from the camper which might be an…

Simple, clean, convenient

Lots of open space, trees, by a river. Clean bath house with hot showers. Right on Chief Ladiga Rail trail about 6 miles west of AL/GA border. We road east, will come back to ride west segment. Dark at night for star gazing. Friendly folks.

Top of Alabama

Cheaha is great for year round camping. Some of the states best hiking trails. Best time to hike is Winter (IMO) when the leaves are mostly gone and you have great views all around. Also trails for mtn. biking. Campgrounds are in great shape with clean bath houses. I’ve camped at both lower and…

Great for young families

We stayed this past weekend. Luckily, we chose the E (more quiet) area because we didn’t want to stay for more than 3 days. Explored all over and saw how crowded c and b were. There are a few less crowded spots on the water but for the most part it’s very close. Good if you want your kids to play…

Great Campground with Lots of Nature and Things to do

On our trip to Cheaha State Park we stayed in the lower campground, which features very roomy RV sites, some with really nice views, and all with full hookups including power, water, and sewer.  There is no cable or wifi available however, and cell service is pretty spotty.  There is also an upper…

  • Drone fly through of the lower RV campground including site numbers.......should be helpful for picking sites.

It’s a campground with hiking trails

Not much to do but hike. You can kayak the Chattahoochee river if you are brave enough to deal with the pollution. Other than that, it’s a good place to relax if everyone doesn’t bring their massive barking dogs along. We found it very hard to enjoy all 3 times we went because of the dogs barking…
