Better than expected!

I didn't stay but I did drive through to check it out for future stops. First impression was very clean! There are two basic areas, the fishing area around the pond which is good sized and shaped so that there's lots of shoreline. The other area is the camping area with hookups and tent sites. In between was the playground and bathroom area. There is a group shelter, and trees. It's a bit off the main highway but easy access. The river is nearby and there are some primitive access roads.

  • The deets...
  • Sites
  • Fishing lake...nice that it is separate from camping area for day use
  • Playground and bathroom looking from sites toward lake
  • There's are two routes in, I used the north one which did have one right hand turn that might be tight for bigger rigs. There is a scenic byway that travels south to the right of the greenish area. I believe it's about 25 mi. Suitable for high clearance vehicles as long as it hasn't been raining as you do cross Arroyo's. Beautiful country if you like rugged stuff and geology. several places you can get further in if you have four-wheel drive. for reference it took an hour and a half for me to drive it down to 380.
  • Scenic byway info
  • Many interesting views of back country
