We stayed a week with friends in the sites around us.  The campground is located off Little Pigeon River.  We could  hear quite a bit of noise from the highway into Townsend.  

Our site wasn’t very shaded (and in 90+ degree heat, that would’ve been nice).  There is a large field for kids and dogs to play… Just make sure to keep the dogs leashed (there is no dog run).  There are a bunch of full-timers there, so the spots are limited.  The pool area was nice.

We noticed a lot of primitive sites - and those were all shaded.
