North Fork Campground — Buffalo Bill State Park

Roadside and lakeside and close to town

This is an affordable campground that is near Cody. We aren’t planning to go into Yellowstone so this was a great option for us. It gives us a nice starting point to dive into the national forest land to the north.

The campground is stretched out into 3 loops and most sites are lakeside. The campsites are very large. Even without any vegetation between us, we still felt like a private space. It seems like the reservable sites have electric and the rest don’t. Restrooms are clean but I haven’t found a water source. I’m thinking it’s by the dump station.

The lake has a nice shoreline to sit at and boating starts from the day use area next door.

This was a nice campground to give us a regrouping place before another venture off grid.
