A Hidden Gem for Boondocking!
This little park is a hidden gem. In fact, we stayed last weekend and nearly had the entire place to ourselves. The park is small but offers a lot. The Pine Rive runs along it so you'll see fly-fishermen in the morning. There is a kayak launch and you can rent kayaks from a local company. There is a cute country store at the entrance where your buy your camping pass. It was only $10.55 for one night in our pop-up. They seem to have all the necessities (beer, booze, & brats) and Sharon was very helpful.
There is water available from a well. There is one port-potty near the boat landing. It appeared to have been pumped recently but mosquitoes were hanging out inside. The permanent bathroom structure was disgusting and I would avoid it. We thought mosquitoes would be an issue being so close to the river but it was fine. We did see a couple of skunks so made some noise to keep them away. We used a generator and found a fire ring. There was also a picnic structure. Camp areas were not marked so you just grab a spot. I noticed some soggy areas, too. You might want to be careful of check ahead when there is a heavy rain as the park has been known to flood. The trails are not long but very nice and afford nice views.
I probably wouldn't stay here longer than 2-3 days but we really liked it and will return with kayaks.
