Excellent county campground with some of the largest sites we’ve come across. Things we look for in a campground: space from neighbors (because of our barky dogs), shade (especially when it’s 90 degrees!) and quiet. This park checked all the boxes! The only downside is that you can’t really access the lake for swimming. (Or we couldn’t figure out where to do it) there were a few large groups camping over the weekend, but everyone respected quiet hours and shut it down early.

Staff and camp hosts are helpful and there is a small office that sells a few staples (ice, wood, snacks, etc) and only allows 5 people in at once (due to COVID) - staff were not wearing masks, but there were plexiglass partitions.

A few site selection tips:

• There are actually four campground areas, we stayed in the area near the harbor (1-16) and the upper campground (62-71) and both were less busy and had smaller rigs than the others.
• Harbor area: sites are well spaced, lovely trimmed grass sites with fire pits - but mixed shade. (Likely why it wasn’t as busy) Site 10 would be the best / most private in this section since it backs up to the forest and is HUGE. We stayed in 8 our first visit and it was lovely, still a large site with good shade. We moved over to site 13 for our 2nd visit, as it was larger, shaded all morning and had more privacy than 8 with only one neighbor and open to the swing set that was barely used.
• Upper campground: AMAZING. Shade and space, space, space!! It is a totally different vibe up here, you are camped among the trees and can barely see your neighbors. We stayed in the largest / most private of the the electric sites (site 67) and we didn’t want to leave. All of the sites up here would have been great.

Cell signal: low signal (only 1 bar on Verizon - 8 down, 3 up - AT&T was better 10 up/down) booster helped for work.
