Description
Open BLM terrain along the lower flanks of Mt. Baker National Forest, this roadside flat sits at the confluence of Wells Creek and Bar Creek — two strikingly different streams, one glacier-silted, the other running clear. The site is close to Wells Creek Road (NF 33) but overnight traffic is light, and the creek's white noise carries through camp. When river levels cooperate, a walk up the Wells Creek drainage leads to a waterfall, and a short stroll up the road opens up views of Mount Baker itself.
