Strawberry Point Camping — Olympic National Park

Strawberry Point Campground is a primitive beach camping area with minimal amenities. The site offers natural camping spots tucked among driftwood piles. A freshwater creek is located approximately 1/4 mile south of the point for water collection (water should be treated before consumption). There are no developed facilities like bathrooms, showers, or trash services, so campers must pack out all waste and practice Leave No Trace principles.

To hike from Third Beach to Strawberry Point, follow the coastal trail that winds along the Olympic National Park shoreline. The route involves beach walking and navigating headlands via overland trails with rope assists in some sections. Plan around tides, as some sections are impassable at high tide. The hike includes elevation changes when going around points. Bring appropriate footwear for sand, rocks, and muddy trail sections. A detailed topographic map is essential for this backcountry coastal hike.
