Boulder Creek Trail Dispersed

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Dense tree cover and a small river roughly thirty feet from camp define the experience at Boulder Creek Trail Dispersed, a National Forest dispersed area outside Darrington, Washington. The access road is gravel and navigable by standard two-wheel-drive vehicles, but it comes with a consistent caveat from visitors: potholes and narrow stretches require careful driving. Bring bug spray. The sites are pull-offs along the road itself, with several large enough to accommodate rigs up to 25 feet, though overhanging branches and brush make that a tight proposition in practice.

Shade here is genuine and heavy, provided by tall conifers that also create a layered understory visible in most site photos. Cell coverage works at this location, which surprises some visitors given the density of the canopy. Short footpaths from individual sites lead down to the river, where fishing is possible. Campers who arrive mid-morning on summer weekends have found spots taken, though road pull-offs further up the forest service road tend to have availability.

One pit toilet is on-site. Campfires are permitted. Darron S. notes the terrain as "very green, Washington" and confirms internet access among the trees. The campground sits within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest corridor, where French Creek Road Dispersed — Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie NF provides a nearby alternative, and campers staging from town can find places to camp near Darrington across a range of setups in the area.

Private oasis off the road

I had the place to myself for 4 nights. It's not easy to get here as the road is full of potholes. Once you turn down this little "driveway" past an old open gate (didn't look like it had been closed in a long time - trust me I checked lol). Anyways you can fit many people, tents, probably campers too but you'll hit some brush or hanging branches - plenty of space to turn around though.

Smooth dirt road to pullout camp sites

RWD drive car friendly—smooth, gravel road. Pullout spots are on this dirt road. There is a small river thirty feet from the campsite. Yes, you can receive Internet in the tall, dense trees here. Very green, Washington terrain.

Really good a lot and 2 bars with AT&T

Really good spot, got here around 1030 or 1100 and all the spots were taking but found a really good spot up the FS road. Easy access but wouldn’t pull a camper up here. I’m in a Land Cruiser with RTT.

Amazing, secluded spot

We found a fantastic spot to set up camp here. Very secluded with lots of privacy in a beautiful forest with a private trail leading from our campsite to the river. Drive carefully coming in as the road has many potholes and bring bug spray.

Nice place

Very nice dispersed location. We stayed for one night on the way to another place. Good locations, many large pull in spots. Shade is excellent and you can walk in to water spots. One pit toilet. Views are ok, but location great.

Quiet, beautiful forest pull-offs

There are some pull-offs on the side of the gravel road on the way to hiking trails and a campground. Road is not well-maintained (quite a few potholes and forest debris) and is very narrow but other than that, it's a good spot to pull over for the night and only an hour outside of North Cascades NP.
