The Palapa RV Beach Resort

Overview

The Palapa RV Beach Resort is a privately owned, RV-only resort situated on 46 acres along the Bolivar Peninsula in Gilchrist, Texas, approximately five miles east of Crystal Beach. The park sits on both the beach and bay sides of Highway 87, providing direct access to the Texas Gulf Coast. It is located 15 miles from the Galveston–Port Bolivar Ferry Landing and appeals strongly to winter Texans and beach-focused RVers.

Facilities

The park offers 36 concrete full-hookup back-in sites with 30-amp and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Amenities include a heated 'Sky Pool' elevated 26 feet above sea level with Gulf views, an adults-only upper deck, private bathrooms and showers in the clubhouse, laundry, and free Wi-Fi (reliability noted as variable due to coastal ISP conditions). Golf cart rentals are available on-site, and there is a gated concrete trail from the park directly to the Gulf beach for golf carts, UTVs, and ATVs. A small playground is also on property. Pets are welcome with a two-pet-per-site maximum.

Recreation

The park's private beach access provides direct Gulf of Mexico beachfront. Rollover Pass, a noted shore-fishing spot, is within the property's vicinity. The park's position between Crystal Beach and Rollover Pass makes it convenient for fishing, wildlife viewing, and beach activities.
