Cedar Pass Campground — Badlands National Park

Fantastic views

This campground is almost surreal. It is completely open so you can see the amazing classic Badlands formations from your tent. This means there’s also no privacy, but it’s worth giving up! Each site has a covered picnic table (as found at many desert/prairie NPS).

Yay: Close to hiking. Water provided.

Nay: It’s hot, dry, and windy but that’s not the campground’s fault :)

Surprise: get up early for the sunrise!!! AND stay up late for stargazing!! Take a siesta to make up for that nature-focussed schedule haha.
