Description
Camp Chamblee sits inside Bladen Lakes State Forest, a 33,000-acre coastal-plain pine forest in southeastern North Carolina near Jones Lake State Park, where low light pollution makes for clear night skies. The clearing holds a communal fire pit, a porta-potty, and room for multiple tents or small pop-up campers — though the last stretch of access road is unpaved and the site is best suited to smaller rigs. A free Special Use Permit is required and can be obtained from the forest office (Mon–Fri, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.); cell service is minimal, but the forest runs very quiet.
