Finger Lakes National Forest

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

The loop road into this dispersed site in Finger Lakes National Forest is steep on both sides, and a truck or high-clearance vehicle makes the climb easier, though parking at the base is an option. The site itself sits level at the top, with enough room to spread out. Trash has been an issue, so arriving with bags to clean up is worth considering. Hikers and equestrian riders have trail access directly from the forest, and camping near Hector includes several nearby alternatives, among them Blueberry Patch Campground roughly a mile to the southwest.

Quiet site near a small pond

The road in (a loop) is steep on both sides (a truck or vehicle with clearance would be helpful but you could also park at the bottom if you needed to). The site was trashy so we picked up a lot of what we could. A bonus—the site was quiet, roomy and once at the ‘top’ is quite level. Not vehicles came in or out all night (and it was a Saturday!).
