Peavine FS

Roughly 30 minutes from the main highway, tucked away in a canyon past some quarry work and ranch land. Roads in the campsite are slightly overgrown as of 5 june 2021, but 4wd should not be needed(should consider high clearance). No service with Verizon, but the canyon was quite and will get you…

Pretty view

We parked closer to the top because we are 40ft 5th wheel.

There were 2 other campers- one right on the lake.

Nice and quiet. Main road was there in background- but didn't bother me sleeping- and I'm a light sleeper.

It's a bit rocky but no problem.

Weather was nice - though chilly at night.

Simplicity Right Off the Highway

My daughter and I stopped here on our way from Las Vegas to Reno. The campground is easy to locate, directly off the Highway. The vault toilets were out of service due to broken locks at the hill top location, they maybe functional down below. There were very few people there, so we had the pick if…

Fantastic lake view from campground

Vault toilets, trash container, covered picnic tables and nice view of Walker Lake. As per other reviews, there are three levels at this campground. We selected a site at the top for the amazing view and nice breezes. A bit less breezy and more buggy in lower campsites closer to water. It was…

Looks nice but it is dusty

Stopped for one night of a 4 week cross country trip. The staff were friendly and helpful with local information. The sites are full hookups, 30 & 50 amp electric, concrete pads (not entirely level), grass areas and trees. They have clean showers and bathrooms, and cable tv. There is WiFi, but…

Beautiful area.

The price is right, only 3.00 for this senior pass holder. And what a view! You don’t even hear the highway above. Paved spots and covered picnic tables. No electric or water, but what a sweet place to stay! I will be back.

Nice place to stop for the night

Great views. Nice spots. Quite a few camping areas. Might be a bit different on a busy summer day but in winter it was nice. Close to the hwy so very convenient. Felt very safe.

Nothing special

Easy for a one night stop if you’ve been driving a while. You can park right by the lake and it seems to be a pretty dead spot so there’s plenty of options. The lakes pretty dull in my opinion.

Good stop through in Nevada

The bathrooms were very clean! Mono Lake is only an hour away so we stayed two nights so we could do a little day trip for some sightseeing.

Remote Nevada

Located about 3 hours outside of Reno or 2 from Tonopah, this campsite sits adjacent to the well preserved ghost town of Berlin and the world’s largest collection of ichthyosaur fossils. The campsites are located halfway up one of the hills overlooking the vast valley (gorgeous!). This campsite…

Worked for the night

Only stayed one night. It had several spots to pick from (at least 20-25) and multiple pit toilets spread throughout. Some of them were closed due to covid. Very quiet and peaceful. The area had a funky smell and SO many flies, maybe due to the heavy amount of algae on the lake but overall, a good…

Hard to get to, but worth it

This campground is out in the middle of no where!

Nice campsites, gravel with tables, shade and fire pits.  The drive out here is something, make sure you have enough gas.

The road is paved for all but the last 5 miles.

Travel Back in Time

An off the beaten path experience for anyone who loves ghost towns or fossils. The old 1800s ghost town of Berlin, Nevada provides the entrance to this unique camping experience. A short trail from the campground leads up to the fossil house where one can view the remains of the largest collection…

Spacious with little road noise and beautiful views

Lots of spaces here with picnic tables and hard top awnings to give you some shade. Stopped here on a Tuesday for an overnight and it was very smoky due to the fires in Cali but there was a nice breeze and we still enjoyed the little bit of Mountain View that you could see from the sites. It was 90…
