Within Lolo National Forest, Fishtrap Lake provides a no-fee camping option that sees light use beyond local visitors. The Forest Service maintains this drive-in and walk-in campground year-round, with sites accommodating RVs up to 24 feet. Large sites spread across forested and open terrain near the lake offer basic amenities including drinking water, toilets, and picnic tables.
Bank fishing access remains limited to a couple spots, with small fish typical for the lake. Cell service requires a 6-mile trip to Two Tree Point, though the route offers huckleberry picking opportunities. The campground allows pets, campfires, and alcohol, making it suitable for campers seeking a low-key base camp with minimal crowds.
