Nice but crowded in the summer

This place was very quaint and exceptionally close to the lake. However, in the summer the day use areas are PACKED.

When the River rises

We pulled in several hours early and were allowed to go immediately to our campsite, #121.  The camp hosts were extremely nice.  It was a back-in, across the road from the river, and next door to the bathrooms.  The campsites around us were electrical only, but it just so happens that the water for…

So many beautiful on the water sites

Wow, what a campground, with swimming beach and volleyball setup.  Campsites extend out on a peninsula while others are a hop, skip and a jump from the launch ramp.  So many of the campsites are right on the water.

We visited campsite #60.  The way the roads were laid out, it made it super…

Convenient Campground with many entertainment options

Choose your campsite carefully.  Some have electrical and water but not all.  Some are electrical only.  Though, water is available in each camping area.

On our first visit in April we were fortunate with campsite #71.  Electrical, water, picnic table, grill, and campfire ring.  We found…

  • Site 71. Its a walk down a path to get to waters edge.
  • Waters edge down from site 71, looking at Marina.

Good campsite, nice swimming area

Big campsite with lots of places to camp. Lots of neighbors and very little privacy. Very close to the lake, marina, boat ramps, swimming area and town.

Good floating, Strict policies

I have been floating on the James River many times. Always a great experience on the river.

Campsite PROS- Very large grassy sites for tent camping with RV sites also available. On site general store for various floating items, alcohol, food etc

Campsite CONS- VERY STRICT camping rules when…

Nice site but crowded

Nice area, this part of Beaver Lake is very clean since it’s close to the dam. Marina is located here. Lost bridge south is quieter but still pretty busy. Boat ramp is in good condition, but kind of at a weird angle to back the truck in.

Yearly Trip

Our yearly trip to Roaring River is one of our favorites. We stay in the duplex cabins on site and my wifes family stays next door. We fly fish for trout and have a blast!

Great place!

Nice wooded areas for tent sites. But be warned... the last 5 lots on campground #2 are always in direct sunlight. No shade whatsoever. Overall great place tho! most tent lots. have a direct 5 to 10 foot path into the lake. Also the lake water is beautifully clear. No complaints. And....cheapest by…

Clean, shaded, and friendly staff

The camp sites were nice and orderly. The restrooms were clean and stocked. The showers had warm water. My son enjoyed swimming. Our weekend stay was very enjoyable. There is a campground store with all those items you may have forgot to grab. A dollar general store in the nearby town. Everything…

Poorly managed and overly crowded

We arrived having booked a reservation online for a campsite nearly a week prior to the date, but were told “good luck finding your site, someone else is probably already there” by the girl at check-in.  This place was a disorganized free-for-all with no one monitoring anything at all.   There were…

Forest and Lake

This campground is located on Beaver Lake in NW Arkansas. It is a Corp of engineer lake. We stayed in site 30 which is quite small but our Winnebago 24’ Trend fit in fine. There was a slight slope but we were able to position our Anderson block on one side and were level. This site is at the end of…
