Did NOT Feel Safe

Gravel road is narrow w/ very sharp left turn to enter. Steep grade up to parking area required 4W drive. I do NOT recommend for over 24’ pull-behind camper. Once arrived, it’s a quiet & beautiful location. Very secluded & has no lighting. We were the only campers there, however, there was a single truck present. They were fishing, & the driver & passengers sharply eyed us up & down , then grimaced, which made us feel VERY uncomfortable, so we left immediately & made sure that they didn’t follow us. Our “Spidey Senses” were going off, so bugging out asap was the best option. Ended up camping behind a fuel station in the next town b/c we were so tired, but slept w/ one eye opened b/c it shook us so much. Reminded us of the movie “Deliverance” in a non-funny way. Would not recommend staying overnight if you’re there alone, it’s way too sketchy. Plus the skeeters ate us up & the toilet was putrid.

Perfect Place to Spend the Night

I believe I counted 4 total campsites at this place, I was the only one here towards the end of September on a Thursday night.

It is close to the highway and you can certainly hear it but it didn’t bother me, it’s kinda handy to have a place close to the highway when you’re just stopping for the night.

Single vault style toilet. There is a dumpster also.

A treat of a spot

Very pleasant spot with a few camp sites as options. Beautiful lake. Bathroom was rough, hole in the ground style with a gate for a door. But over all the site was worth it

Exactly what we were looking for

We were looking for a quick detour to set up our tent and sleep for a few hours. This was exactly that. There was a picnic table, a fire pit, a nice breeze, a lake and it was quiet and secluded

A true outdoorsmen and fisherman's paradise

This place is a private, and quiet area. You almost get a vibe at first that your somewhere you shouldn't be. Than you get a look at that lake and forget about it. Charity lake sits in between or in a valley of hills. You see these hills with all this plush green trees around this lake. I can only imagine what this place looks like in the fall with the different color of foilage. There is a dirt road that takes you to the other side of the lake, but not much there. The campsites aren't really anything, but a fire ring. But for primitive campers that's all you need. There is a out house there, and that's about it. This place is not for the faint of heart, but there is a lot of beauty in nature. But I will tell you I am already planning a trip to this place with my oldest here.

Peaceful

Just off of I29 it is a very primitive but quiet spot, great fishing, primitive hiking, a small amount of camping spots.
