Deep in the Upper Peninsula's Hiawatha National Forest, a sandy forest road terminates at a small clearing just east of the Au Train River corridor — quiet northern-Michigan woods with no facilities and plenty of deer flies in season. The turnaround is compact, best suited to vans or smaller rigs. Cell signal is workable here despite the remote feel.
