Secluded Pond Camp w/ Internet

I don’t believe in luck, but this stay tops my black river & Hovey campground experience! I have service, but seclusion for my dogs & I regardless of others fishing and camping around me.

Sitevery back on the sand-do not drive if you don’t have 4WD or camper.

Hidden gem

Great spot, easy dirt road, quite a few established spots with fire rings. Beautiful pond, but like most of Michigan- ruthless mosquitoes!

Beautiful Private Quiet

Great spot to spend a quiet night. Easy access off well maintained gravel road. Several level parking areas to accommodate most size rigs. No services.

Good Dispersed Camping Spot

Nice bare bones dispersed camping spot. Decent gravel road leading to it, and easy to navigate to the different spots along the pond (we were in a 26’ Winnebago View). A few other campers out there, a couple looked like some more permanent fixtures of the camping area. Good fishing in pond, caught a trout. We stayed for two nights and both days/nights there were people doing target shooting in the area so there was some pretty loud gunshots, if that’s a deal breaker for you, I wouldn’t recommend this spot.

Perfect Hidden Gem

We came in Mid September, the weather was still warm but 60/70. No bathrooms or hook ups, but perfect for tent or car campers. There was one other camper with a pop up camper and looked to be doing great. The road was long but worth the drive back!

Castle Rock easy in and out

Just minutes off of 75 down a well maintained gravel road are the Castle Rock ponds. Decent flat parking around the ponds, with plenty of room for at least 6 rigs.

Great night stop over

Stopped for the night. Easy to get to from the Hwy. I must have had a good night as the bugs were at a minimum.

Easy to get to

Easy to get to camping spot with multiple camping sites overlooking ponds. A couple miles down a nice gravel road that any kind of car could make it down. A couple people were here with moderate sized RVs. The mosquitos were pretty bad but what do you expect in the UP in July.
