With 8,000 surface acres of water, the lake is an ideal place for boating. With ten boat ramps located around the shoreline, guests have plenty of room for fishing, jet skiing, wake boarding and more. Three full-service marinas are also located around the lake.   
  
Fishing is a popular activity at Green River Lake. Walleye, crappie, white bass, channel catfish, muskie and bluegill are all found in abundance.   
  
Hunters enjoy the surrounding land, with various habitats supporting deer, turkey, rabbit, quail, squirrel, dove and waterfowl.   
  
There are also miles of trails that wind around the lake and along the shore, affording some of the most scenic views in the region.

## Facilities

Pikes Ridge Campground is a shoreline campground, offering 60 campsites, 20 of which have water and electric hookups. Several waterfront campsites are available, providing convenient lake access. A playground, hiking trail and swimming beach offer additional recreation opportunities within the campground. A boat ramp, courtesy dock, several docks to tie up boats, a fishing pier, parking area, and vault toilets are also all located within the campground.

NOTE: There are no flush toilets or showerhouses located in this campground.

A swimming beach, several miles of multi-use trails to include horseback riding, a reservable picnic shelter, parking areas, additonal playground and restroom facilities, boat ramp, courtesy dock, fishing pier, marina, and marina owned rental cabins are all located within 1 mile of the campground.

The park offers thirteen designated backcountry campsites that are accessible only by hiking or horseback.

Backcounty sites are primitive, with only a fire ring and horse hitching posts available.

All sites except McCoy Hollow have a nearby water source, but campers should boil and treat water before drinking, or plan to carry in drinking water.

Campsites are limited to one party up to eight people in size.
Pickup a Backcountry map at the Mammoth Cave Campground information kiosk, or the Visitor Information desk.
Permit Required - $10 per trip. Reservations through Recreation.gov.

Overnight camping is permitted along floodplains and on islands along the Green and Nolin Rivers. Camping in these areas is only accessible by boat.

When camping on floodplains, campers must camp at least ½ mile away from Green River Ferry, Houchin Ferry and Dennison Ferry Day Use Area.

Know where you are. Riverside camping on private lands outside the park may not be permitted.

Sudden rainstorms can cause rapid flooding along riverways and river levels and currents fluctuate dramatically, particularly during winter months. Always check the river level and weather forecast before launching or camping along the rivers.

Permit Required - $10 per trip. Permits available online, up to a week in advance. Permits are subject to cancelation due to river levels. River levels must remain below 20 feet.

## Recreation

Known for its unique blue/green water, Nolin Lake is one of the top lakes in Kentucky for catfish, bass, crappie and walleye fishing.   
  
Visitors can enjoy scenic canoe and boat trips along the river, part of which is located within Mammoth Cave National Park. Boat ramps are provided around the lake for campers' convenience.   
  
The Moutardier, Ponderosa and Wax Marinas are located around the lake and offer pontoon and john boat rentals, as well as boat slips and groceries, bait, gas and more.   
  
Several hiking trails also wind along the shoreline and into the surrounding forest. Shady Creek Trail, located in the Moutardier Recreation Area, is known for its array of wildflowers and greenery.

Dog Creek Campground offers 70 reservable campsites, complete with modern amenities like electric hookups and flush toilets. Campsites are located along the shoreline, allowing easy access to the lake and beaches for visitors.

Nolin Dam creates a 5,795-acre lake that draws more than two million visitors each year to enjoy water sports and camping in the surrounding expanse of rolling forest.

This cabin has a two king-size beds one of them has door controls and the other is upstairs in the loft also a twin bed and the couch would also accommodate someone each cabin has its own little kitchenette which includes hot and cold water in a dispenser you will have a coffee bar which the coffees include also lists canned food and items such as popcorn in case you come in late and the children are hungry we have a microwave and refrigerator TV tables chairs couches anything that you would expect in Glamping. The other She Shed has a queen bed downstairs and in lofts on each side are twin beds also each cabin has mini splits with heat and air you were found an array of movies games board games to play with inside the cabins we also have the kid cave which is nothing but toys inside a little cabin. And the Man Cave. Inside this cabin you were find a queen bed and a full bed this is all one level with curtains to separate for privacy a couch TV everything that is in all the other cabins when you arrive you will be welcomed with a dozen of free fresh farm ground eggs and a bag of marshmallows which will have chocolate within the center we have plenty of yard games for the family we have a bathhouse which you are welcome to use and you can stay more than one night
