Small County-Owned and Operated Campground

Fox Valley Recreation Park is a small county-owned and operated campground in Fleming County. There are a few permanent WSE sites, several permanent WE sites, a couple nightly rental WE sites, and a fairly large primitive camping area with WE available for camper’s use. There is an onsite convenient store that offers drinks and snacks for a reasonable fee. Unfortunately, they do not offer ice.

For adults, it's a good place to relax, sit around the campfire, and enjoy an adult beverage with friends and fellow campers.

For families with children, it isn’t as family friendly as we has hoped. One, there isn’t much to keep children entertained except for riding their bike on the tar and chipped roadways (5 MPH posted speed limit) and a small playground with basketball court, swings, wooden playhouse, and monkey bars. Two, during our stay we had an issue with another camper, at a neighboring site, using illegal drugs around their campfire. We reported the incident to the Manager/Caretaker, but do not believe that anything was done because it happened on more than one occasion.

Final thought, Fox Valley Recreation Park could be a great facility, similar to AJ Jolly Park in Campbell County if it wasn't mismanaged by both the Manager/Caretaker and the county administrators.
