Not our vibe

Sankoty Lakes is nice, but seems more or less like the RV equivalent of a gated community with a strict HOA or a country club. People were frequently circling the area on golf carts, and someone stopped to interrogate us about our trailer and whether we had told the reservation department that we had a trailer when we booked. Sites are good, level with full hookups, but the RV area is only accessible by driving around the side of the complex and through a neighborhood, and then you have to wait for someone to come open the gate. Might be great for some folks, but we just didn't feel welcome.

NOW CLOSED

We stayed here in April 2021, they have 21 RV sites as of this review and there were only 5 or six RV‘s here when we visited. The sites are very new since they just opened for business in 2021. Concrete pad is very large, depending on your rig, you could probably fit 3 or 4 cars at the site, to give you an idea of the size. The firepit is built with pavers and an insert. All sites are full hookup. We had 20, 30, and 50 amp hookups. They supposedly pickup your garbage each morning, although it had not yet been picked up after staying two nights. The grounds are nice, but as of this writing not fully complete. You can rent boats and fish as well. Since the grounds are newly setup, the trees are newly planted, so no shade yet. I imagine this will be a place we’re more likely to stay at during early spring or fall, because of the lack of shade. It can get pretty windy being right on the lake, with no trees. I‘d like to see them add a playground. The RV area seemed safe enough to let kids ride bikes. We got a decent Sprint 5G signal(good enough to stream Netflix) we will stay here again.
