## Overview

 Stoddard Creek Campground is located just 1 mile off I-15 and 17 miles north of the town of Dubois, Idaho. Visitors come to the area to enjoy the abundance of trails, wildlife viewing opportunities and scenic beauty. 
## Recreation

 Fishing, hiking, mountain biking, motorcycling and ATV riding are popular activities in the area. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail can be accessed 8 miles away, where it crosses I-15. 
## Facilities

 The campground contains one accessible group site that can accommodate up to 50 people. Picnic tables and campfire circles are provided, as are vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection. A campground host is on-site. PLEASE NOTE: The Group Site (currently designated 008) will be relocated to the NEW group area beginning the 2019 season. ALL reservations made for the OLD group site (008) will be transferred to the NEW group area. 
## Natural Features

 The campground is situated in a Douglas fir and aspen forest. Stoddard Creek runs just below the site. The campground is approximately 11 miles south of the Idaho-Montana border via Monida Pass on the Continental Divide.

 Phone, gas and groceries are 5 miles away in Spencer, Idaho or 17 miles away in Dubois.

Stoddard Creek Campground

We pulled in and paid our $5 senior rate before I realized we were in a reservable spot.  I checked with the host who was awesome and said no worries, it hadn’t been reserved so we were fine.  It was beautiful there but the weather was nasty.  It snowed and we actually had frost on the windows the next morning so we didn’t get to explore since we were only there for the night.  If you are headed to West Yellowstone there is an absolutely beautiful drive on a dirt road by taking the Fort Henry bypass.  We had a lot of mud due to the weather but made it fine in our Mercedes Coachmen.

We arrived here kind of late at night. This campground is pay site but down the street a little further is free more primitive camping. We had a great time although the water as turned off because it was mid october and the water needs to be turned off before it freezes.

They had just cleaned a bunch of trees so we had plenty of wood to burn. The only problem which was more hilarious than anything were these 2 duches blasting country music all night. What ever, to each his or her own. Beautiful down on Stoddard creek.

We stayed at this campground for one night on July 22, 2018.  

There are two levels, the lower one is for non-reserved and sits along the sometimes dusty road, and the upper is reserved and very green. The upper is much nicer with some of the cleanest best smelling pit toilets we've ever seen. We considered additional nights as it was so nice. Our neighbors were planning on one night as well but had remained for 6 nights. 

We had a very nice pull through site #6, with a level graveled area for the large picnic table and separate stove stand.  The fire pit was also located in this area but safely away from the table. The green meadows, surrounding trees, and excellent maintenance made this a beautiful campground.

As a note both AAA and Google routed us to exit 180 and we drove for 4 miles on sometimes paved, sometimes gravel road to arrive. When we got within a quarter mile of the campground, we came to exit 184 which was right at the campground (no gravel travel required)

The host Todd was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve seen in a campground, and not smelly either 😁

Great campground

Me and my wife were looking to get away for a weekend and this place was just what we needed. We Tent Camp and we had people RV camp on either side of us and never heard them the whole time. The area is very woodsy and very pretty. The campsite was very developed and taken care of. The bathrooms were extremely
Nice !!! They didn’t even smell bad ! Lol. We took a walk around the camp grounds and we saw many others do the same. We stayed at campsite 005. At all the campsites there was fire pits and big picnic tables. This is a spot we highly recommend. 

A perfect campground 

This campground has pull through and back in RV sites as well as group sites and tent.  It is wooded with some trails to explore.  Dumpsters, pit toilets and potable water are available.   The camp host was very helpful and friendly. For $13.00 per night, you can't beat it!

In the woods

This campground was an amazing find after 10+ hours of driving. Sometimes adding another hour or more navigating back roads to find camping is just not in the cards. The campground only had one other visitor when we visited so it was very quiet, and it is also tucked away in the trees so there is minimal road noise. This spot is actually free until memorial day (the camp host was actually there doing maintenance and said that it only charges a fee memorial - labor day). Although be warned, only one bathroom was open and we had to go on a hunt to find it. Sites all seemed spacious and lots of trees!

Easy access from I-15, but quiet and pleasant

Wonderful quiet campsite. Close to Highway 15. Perfect for an overnight but easily a multi night stay.

Didn’t make a reservation but got a great spot on top of the hill. Spacious camp sites and clean nature toilets.
