Description
Phantom Canyon Road (CR 67) cuts through a narrow canyon corridor in BLM's Royal Gorge country, where a small roadside pull-off sits steps from Eightmile Creek, whose sound carries across the road even when the water itself is out of sight. A short walk through a gap in the vegetation leads to a flat area with a fire ring — quiet enough that little traffic passes once you've settled in. The road is narrow and best suited to smaller vehicles.
