Description
Desert canyon country along the Unaweep-Tabeguache Scenic Byway, this BLM pullout sits beneath the broad shelf of Atkinson Mesa with the historic Hanging Flume Viewpoint just a couple kilometers up the road. A gravel spur off CO-141 leads into a large, open camping area with a fire ring and wide views of the surrounding redrock terrain. Nights here are quiet and dark, with reliable star visibility well away from town lights.
