Stayed in Site 78 in the upper part of Lodgepole, which was perfect. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, no one was in the site next to us. (That one, site 74, seemed really cramped. Someone had moved the picnic table to the tent pad, but there wasn't really much space to move it anywhere else. If…

So I gave it an extra star because the closer you get, the more beautiful the scenery - but I never made it all the way. The description of the road is a bit deceptive. There’s 7+ miles paved but bumpy, tight turns, and quite a bit is barely one car wide. People were polite about working it out to…
We loved our stay at this campground. It was beautiful, quite and the camp host was incredibly kind. My only complaint is that we were very far from any good hikes. My partner and I ended up driving 3hours to Sequoia NP so we could get a good one in. However, if you want a nice, lazy weekend in the…
Great location in Joshua Tree but 20 minutes from west entrance. Large pull through sites semi-level. Clean restrooms with flush toilets and running water. Good TV and cell service, close to Yucca City. It does get very windy making it uncomfortable to sit outside. Great hiking trails from…
Stayed at Furnace Creek. Facilities as expected. Mix of tent and RV sites. Plan to secure your food and trash. I had a coyote get into the trash bag at 3 am.
This spot is great if you want easy access to Alabama Hills but don’t want to deal with having no toilets and no reservations. Still beautiful views throughout the campgrounds. It’s a bit easier for families here.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. I have camped out here 3 times now. Each time it never disappoints and never gets old. I love that it doesn’t have amenities because it lets me feel like we are far out there even though there is easy access to town.

Please note: This review is regarding the dispersed camping. There are (at least) two formal camp grounds right near the dispersed camping area.
We went up there with another family, both of us towing camping trailers with 4x4 trucks. A 4x4 is not needed, nor is a high clearance vehicle. …

Had a great time 3 nights of amazing campfires
Amazing views in every direction. Although it was a holiday weekend, we found a great spot early Saturday morning. Find a spot not too far from a porta potty if you don’t have your own. Also be prepared for the heat and wind. A mister to cool you down and extra stakes or even weights for your tent…

Its qlmost impossible to get a spot here, but we got lucky on a Thursday early in the season. It was amazing! There were deer and marmots that were friendly (but not camp beggers) and trees the perfect distance for hammock sleeping.
Normally do dispersed camping, but figured I would do the campground thing. Very beautiful well kept supposedly it had just opened an hour or two before I arrived after being closed for two years. Great campground
Everyone knows about Alabama Hills now (thanks social media). That doesn't diminish the beauty out there. There is a plethora of available camping spots that all fill up quickly and for good reason. Falling asleep at night looking at Mount Whitney is something I could never get used to and the…

Needed a spot off 395, pulled in didn't have to go too far and found a spot. We arrived at night so we did not have a lay of the land but the stars were amazing and the sunrise was on point too. Neighbors near by but very quiet. I'll be back to this spot.
My only complaint is other people are very rude. Untrained pets, music from other sites... the sites are far apart, but there is no vegitation to buffer the sounds of other people.
