Three fire pits, dig your own commode, lots of water year round, but little wood. Expect to forage far if you want a fire. But otherwise a great spot to spend a few summer days away from anyone not hale enough to trek in a few miles.
Campgrounds under construction to lay new pipes and beautify grounds. Lots of campsites. Not to mention tons of God's majestic creation to see. From my favorite the Jet black Ravens, rabbits, coyotes, and interesting botany there are plenty of creatures to aww and be thankful for. Gets dusty, and a bit hot sometimes. If you are trying to conduct business or take courses online wifi is an issue and have to come out of pocket on top of membership dues and what you fork out to monthly service provider. However is close to cute old timey shopping and mystical adventure.
Even though you are lined up next to your neighbors, noise just doesn’t carry because the roar of the ocean is so loud! It’s amazing to fall asleep to. We loved exploring the sand dunes across the street and even saw a pod of dolphins! Restrooms were well maintained and staff was friendly. A huge bonus is that it was pet friendly, but most of the trails around are not.
I love this campground for the area. Beautiful trails near by, next to a stream, gorgeous views, and of course that mountain air! Trees are perfect for hammocks. I’ve been here a couple times and it’s always been really crowded and loud, and if you want to party in the woods, this is the spot! If you’re looking for a more remote area, this isn’t it. Still an enjoyable campground and if I’m going with several friends this will be the place we go!
This was my first experience where I felt isolated but it was during COVID-19. No interaction from the staff or tenants. They list that there’s WiFi but I was close to the office and was never able to connect. Overall my stay was ok, nothing to write about.
Joshua tree is an excellent campground except there is no running water at this park. Make sure you get to the outhouse early in the morning or you’ll be forced to endure the stench of other campers waste. Lots of good hiking trails and rock formations if you’re into climbing. Be mindful of hot temps during summer months
