Gold Creek Road (FR 3N29) Dispersed — Angeles NF

Description

Gold Creek Road (FR 3N29) cuts into the rugged front range of Angeles National Forest, ending at a tent-only pullout in chaparral terrain near Mendenhall Peak. The access road is manageable for most high-clearance vehicles in dry conditions, but the final steep, rutted stretch to the flat camping area at the top demands AWD or 4WD — those without can park below and walk up. Cell signal is unreliable, the area sees occasional through-traffic, and visitors consistently note litter left by others; plan to pack out more than you bring in.
