Camping on the sand is awesome and the beach is great. Big and pretty empty so you can see the waves from your tent door. Yes, you hear the road right behind you but you are in LA and camping on the sand! Only downside for us was the crazy afternoon wind so we now take the trailer. This is a primitive campground meaning porta potties only so trailer or RV is good here for that reason too. All in all, being able to sleep on the sand right in LA is super awesome for aa quick soft getaway.
