COE West Point Lake Amity Campground

I really wanted to like it

The main reason this campground is getting just an okay from me is because of the near hellish amount of bugs there were.  I came on one of the first hot and humid days of the late spring and, man, that was more bugs than I've ever seen in my life.

This looks like a great boating and RV campground but for car camping without AC, not so much.  I retreated to sweat in my car and watch the beautiful sunset through my windshield.

I would not say that the bathrooms were very clean but it may have been because of all of the bugs. Not gonna lie, they scarred me.

Nevertheless, this was an alright one-night stopping point for me.  The dam nearby is a physical bridge between Georgia and Alabama so that was pretty cool.  I spoke with a grounds keeper there and he suggested a lot of cool things to do with my day.  The camp host at Amity, however, said that there was nothing to do. LOL.

In passing forward cool recommendations: check out Cheaha State Park, or maybe just drive a little extra and stay there instead.
