Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Fredericksburg Wine Country

Drama staff, drugs, rude management

There's a reason this Jellystone is not as popular as all the others. I was hired knowing that I have a disability and have a service K9. She does not have to be with me at all times but I was advised that in order to get the job she would have to stay home. This of course is against ADA regulations but I took the position anyway. So I am very knowledgeable about how things are at this resort having worked there, I've seen it all! Several of the campers complain about Stacie and her demeanor. While I never had an issue with her personally or with any of the staff, I was told that campers complained about me. I find this so very hard to believe. Ok so the review is about the park itself. It is a nice family oriented Jellystone; however, with that being said, parents should be aware that the activities team are on site smoking pot in between their interaction with the guests during activities. Stacie, the office manager drinks alcohol while working, which is against TABC regulations. They do not clean and maintain their food service machines as per health code standards. I know this because in the one month I worked there I cleaned only one machine and it was the wine-a-rita machine that was full of mold. Health standards require a three sink usage when handling food items and a kitchen where only food is prepared. This Jellystone does not. Inside their store they prepare, donuts, breakfast tacos, coffee, hot dogs, etc. None of these machines are taken apart and thoroughly cleaned on a scheduled basis. They advertise WiFi at your campsite when they know it does not work. All of their advertisements say that WiFi is included, I lived there and WiFi never worked and this was a major complaint of guests. They are obviously doing something right, campers return, weekends are booked, and holidays as well. But I believe it is because it's a Jellystone and about the name not the experience. Stacie is a liar. Plain and simple. She has gotten everyone that has worked there fired. As soon as she feel threatened, she fires an employee. She is unable to work a morning shift because she is a drunk, and according to the guests she is Always in a bad mood. Sure there are lots of good things, like a stocked general store, activities on the weekends for the kids, a nice pool, a beautiful bath house, beautiful cottages, and great sized campsites. There's mini golf, and pedal carts, not free though. There's a huge jumping pillow. But know that there is no lifeguard at the pool/splash pad, or adult supervision at the jumping pillow. I had very high hopes for this Jellystone and I enjoyed my time working there, I very much enjoyed the guests and the experience of kindness I could give to them. But the drama that Stacie stirs up will never change and the owners just refuse to see it. I'm sure this won't put them out of business but I will be sure to report them to TABC, Texas Health Department, and Jellystone, Hanna Barbara Warner Bros.
