## Overview

 Tucked away at the base of the Teton Mountain Range, Jenny Lake Campground is situated within walking distance of the eastern shore of Jenny Lake, with views of Teewinot Mountain, Mount St. John, and into Cascade Canyon. This tent-only campground has two loops with 51 individual campsites, three of which are ADA-compliant sites, and 10 hiker-bicycler sites. The Jenny Lake Store is a five-minute walk from the campground and offers firewood, ice, clothing, souvenirs, and snacks.\_\_ Offering a wide array of activities including boating, hiking, and cycling, the Jenny Lake area is one of the most-visited sections of the park, making this campground a great location for exploration. The campground is open from earl-May to late-September, and is extremely popular. Those looking to camp at Jenny Lake are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and book early. 
## Recreation

 Several popular trails begin at Jenny Lake. Hikers can loop the lake, visit Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point, or travel into the backcountry via Cascade Canyon. Longer and more challenging trails like Lake Solitude and Hurricane Pass are also accessible from this area. Visitors of all abilities have a multitude of options for exploring the Jenny Lake area. Take a boat ride, set up a picnic on the lakeshore, go for a wildlife-spotting walk, or cycle along Teton Park Road using the multi-use pathway that extends from South Jenny Lake all the way to the town of Jackson. The Jenny Lake Visitor Center makes its home inside the historic Harrison Crandall Studio. The original building was built in the 1920\'s, and recent renovations were completed in 2019. Stop in to chat with a ranger, visit the Grand Teton Association store, or learn about the history of art in conservation and the National Park Service. Follow the Discovery Trail to Jenny Lake. Along the way, stop to explore interpretive panels highlighting area wildlife, history, and the creation of the landscape. Take an easy stroll to see the lakeshore, or use the path to access the boat dock and area trails. The Discovery Trail is a paved, 0.35m/0.56km trail, with wheelchair access to Jenny Lake. 
## Facilities

 Jenny Lake Campground is a tent-only campground. Trailers, campers, pop ups and ALL towables are not permitted. Each campsite includes a compact gravel parking space for ONE VEHICLE NO LARGER THAN 8 FEET HIGH AND 14 FEET LONG, a tent pad, a picnic table, a fire pit with metal fire grate, bear-proof food storage lockers, and access to nearby water spigots, flush toilets, and two token-operated showers. Only two tents are permitted per site. ADA Access: Three campsites are ADA compliant, and feature accessible picnic tables, leveled sites, and leveled pathways to accessible restrooms and payphone. One coin-operated shower is also ADA accessible. Routes to the amphitheater are not wheelchair accessible.\_\_ There is no WiFi/internet service at Jenny Lake Campground. The closest public wireless internet access is at the Craig Thomas Discovery &amp; Visitor Center in Moose. Cellular coverage varies, and may be available depending on location within the campground and service provider. There is a campground host on-site, and a house phone located at the kiosk. Firewood, ice, and supplies can be purchased at the nearby Jenny Lake Store and not in the campground.\_\_ 
## Natural Features

 Jenny Lake Campground is situated within short walking distance of Jenny Lake and right along the Grand Teton National Park bike path. The campground straddles a glacial moraine covered with an open forest of lodgepole pine, subalpine fir and Douglas fir. Across the lake, Teewinot Mountain, Cascade Canyon and Mount St. John dominate the landscape.\_\_ The Jenny Lake area is home to black and grizzly bears, moose, deer, and other large animals. Bears are often seen on trails and in the developed areas. Being prepared for an animal encounter can help ensure the safety of you and the wildlife. 
## Nearby Attractions

 Visitors can take a self-guided tour of Grand Teton via the 43-mile Scenic Loop Drive, offering an opportunity to photograph the famous landscape and local wildlife. Make sure you stop at the historic Jackson Lake Lodge for its famous huckleberry milkshakes and spectacular Teton views through 60-foot tall wall-to-wall windows. While you\_\_\_re there, book a scenic raft trip, park bus tour, or horseback ride. Then head a few miles north to Colter Bay Village where you can rent a kayak or canoe, take a guided boat ride to the majestic base of the Teton Range, or just enjoy lunch and the stunning lake view from the marina. A short drive from Jenny Lake is the town of Jackson, where you can visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art just north of town, walk under the famous giant elk antler archway in town center, attend the Jackson Hole Rodeo, browse local shops, or dine at one of the many restaurants. In the opposite direction, Yellowstone National Park is within easy reach by car, and has a great diversity of activities for everyone to enjoy.

## Charges &amp; Cancellations

 Changing Reservations: There is no change fee if a visitor extends or shortens a reservation, as long as the change includes dates from the original reservation. Additionally, there is no change fee if the visitor wants to switch sites that are the same price with the same reservation dates in the same facility. If a visitor wants to switch dates that are entirely outside of the original reservation dates, there is a $10 change fee. If a reservation is made that includes dates beyond the maximum booking window, that reservation cannot be changed until 18 days have passed from the original booking date. Once a reservation date has begun, visitors cannot change a reservation using the online system or through the Call Center. Onsite staff will assist with changes or cancellations. Cancellations: Visitors may cancel their reservation prior to arrival both on-line and through the call center. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation. A visitor who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night\'s approved rate including tax and applicable add-on. Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee. Visitors who cancel a group overnight facility reservation less than 14 days prior to arrival date will pay a $10 service fee AND forfeit the first night\_\_\_s rate. No-Shows: A no-show visitor is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date. No-shows are assessed $20.00 service fee and forfeit the first night\'s rate, taxes and applicable add-on for a campsite. Early Departures: Visitors are requested to notify staff at the facility if they depart early to allow others to use the site. If the visitor chooses to depart early, they may forfeit the approved rate and applicable tax and applicable add-on for the day of departure. If a visitor departs prior to the scheduled check-out date, they may be eligible for a partial refund. Visitors may notify the Recreation.gov call center to request a refund of remaining unused nights. If a visitor requests a refund for an early departure after the facility check-out time (11 am) has passed, the visitor will not be refunded for that night and is eligible for a refund on any additional nights that will not be used. Refunds: Visitors may submit a refund request through their Recreation.gov profile within 7 days of the end date of their reservation. Visitors may also initiate a refund request through the call center at any time after their reservation has ended. Refunds for debit or credit card payments will be issued as a credit to the original bank or credit card used to pay. For check or cash purchases, Recreation.gov will mail a Treasury check for refunds of cash, check, or money order payments to the address associated with the reservation. Treasury check refunds may take up to 6-8 weeks to arrive. In the event of an emergency closure, the Recreation.gov team or facility manager will refund all fees and will attempt to notify you using the contact information within the Recreation.gov visitor profile.

Jenny Lake Campground — Grand Teton National Park

As a tent camper, this is my favorite campground in my favorite place to hike.  If your site is towards the entrance and/or east side of the campground you have wonderful views of the Teton range from your site.  

  

I have camped here a few times over the years, and have loved it each time.  Due to the view and the proximity to Jenny, Leigh, and String lakes it is an extremely popular campsite not to mention it is relatively quiet due to it being a tent only campground.

  

The current campground manager has done an excellent job developing an efficient check-in procedure that respects the privacy of the campers, as I have in years prior had people coming to my tent before 6am to ask if I'm leaving or staying longer.

  

Each site has a fire ring/grate, picnic table, and a bear bin.  The campground has only one bathroom which is centrally located but has been remodeled and is much improved from my previous stays.  Sites can vary quite a bit, but our site had a large tent pad and a water faucet.

  

It is common for deer and bear to frequent the campground traveling to and from the lakes.

  

This campground has easy access to hikes around the lakes as well as back into Cascade Canyon.  The Jenny Lake general store/gift shop, ranger station, and boat dock are all short walks from the campground.

Incredible Mountain Views!

Visited this campground after staying in Yellowstone National Park. This campground offers 49 tent sites and then 10 other sites reserved for hikers and bicyclists, which is awesome - there is nothing worse than hiking or biking for hours only to find all the sites full! You couldn't ask for a better setting than this campground,  right on Jenny Lake at the base of the Tetons. Each site offers full bear boxes and I would highly recommend them as bear traffic in this region is high. There is a ton of fishing,  hiking, climbing, and biking available right from here. There is a gorgeous paved trail for biking that brings you through some amazing areas. There is also a hiking trail that goes around all of Jenny Lake, or you can take a ferry that brings you rigjt across, I forget the price however. The campground offers basic ammentities such as clean toilets and fresh water. There is also a store near by in the visitors setting offering basic provisions.  This is definitely a must visit for anyone that plans on camping in this region, by far my favorite. 

Jenny Lake 

I stopped here on a cross country tour in June 2012. The Grand Teton National Park is probably my #1 park in America as of now. If you like to hike, a lot, and climb steep mountains to find meadows and streams with all kinds of wildlife on top of mountains then this is it. Abdplutely stunning. The tent-only campground is located just off of Jenny lake in the pines. Table, fire ring, flushing toilets (no showers), bike path, store and a short walk to Jenny lake. A+

One of my favorites, incredible. 

This is one of the most popular campgrounds in the Grand Teton National Park, and I'm sure you can see why. It's right by Jenny Lake which is not only a beautiful place in itself, with a trail around the lake, and kayaking, but also a starting point for longer hikes, Like Solitude Lake and Cascade Canyon. It does fill up rather quickly but if you can get a spot, jump on it! There is only one bathroom at the beginning of the campground. Each spot has a table, bear safe food storage container, fire pit, and one tent pad which is big enough for two small backpacking tents or one big tent. It says to only have tents on the pads, but I believe we saw a couple people with a tent also set up on the ground. Bears do frequent this area, so you have to be safe. Wonderful campground, I would definitely return. 

Great Area

We visited Jenny Lake, August 2014 and absolutely loved it. It is a perfect location to get away from RVs and Trailers. They offer a wide variety of campsites, some being open and some in the woods. The camp hosts very extremely friendly and helpful and would definitely return.

Beautiful Tent Camping

Perfect jumping off point for hikes in the Tetons. We hiked around Jenny Lake and up Cascade Canyon and hiked up to Lake Amphitheater as well. Sunset over the snake river with a view of the tetons is also a great evening side trip (bring some mosquito spray!)

Jenny Lake Campground

A beautiful campground at the base of the Tetons. No reservations means be there early to get a camp site. There are nice flush toilets in a central location in the campground and great showers are just up the road at Signal Mountain. Sites aren't very private, but each is nicely equipped with a fire ring, bear box, and tent pad. Very quiet and peaceful with access to trails from the campground. The park service was in the process of upgrading the plumbing and some trails, so expect an even better experience than we had. 

Wow!! The lake and the mountains are right next to the campsite. We thought it would be busy but we were pleasantly surprised how quiet and secluded you feel. We saw a ton of wildlife at our campsite. We were grateful for the bear boxes to keep our food. The trees that surround the campsites are huge. This is on our visit list.

Flush toilets, tables, fire pits, wildlife right outside your tents amazing views should be more than enough amenities.

While the sites could be a little more private, you're not too packed in and excellent starting off point to explore a bunch of trails and other parts of the park.

Nice sites, amazing views

I fell in love with this place when I first saw it In 2005 on a road trip and vowed to go back. I've always been lucky enough to get a site but they really go fast. Once your camp is set you can forget about using your car keys because most everything you want to do is at your doorstep. The campground sits in front of the Tetons with the crystal clear Jenny lake between you. The trail around the lake is beautiful or you can take a ferry across the lake to get into the back country which I highly recommend both routes. Cascade Canyon and lake Solitude are wonderful day hikes with excellent payoffs. I've never been up in the canyon where I didn't see moose or bears or both. This year I was lucky enough to share this part of my life with my grandson. We started everyday with mountain house biscuits and gravy for me chicken and rice for him for seven days, yum. Or last hike into the backcountry was cut short about 7500ft by a sleet storm, great times. 

Tenth year

Great car-camping site in the Grand Tetons. This campground has all the amenities you need, but also provides ample camping space so you don't feel squished. Really enjoyed the neighboring views and wildlife.

A pleasant place in the Tetons

Stayed here as part of our tour through the area of Jackson Hole and the Tetons. Many primitive tent sites with spots to park your car. There are about 50 sites available and they are first come first served. This is a busy park so get there early if coming at a peak period. Plenty of trees for a clothes line and there is a camp bathroom.  Road access is closed Nov-May (this is the Tetons after all!) and the camp is really close to Jenny Lake Visitor Center and the Ranger Station. The campground is right on Jenny Lake which is beautiful! If you can get a good day hike in try to take the Jenny Lake loop. You will get to see Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point, Moose Pond, and Cascade Canyon. There is also a shuttle boat that comes in close to the campground and drops you off on the other side of the lake. Definitely worth it to take the entire loop if you can rather than take the boat. Kayaking is available on Jenny lake as well. My wife and I did that and it was well worth it!

For a stay in the Tetons National Park stop by here and hope for a walk-in 

It was a quick trip, but worth reconnecting with my National Park passion! The campground was full, but after talking to the staff and host I found a spot. All I needed was 2 trees to hang!

Jenny Lake was outstanding!

Stayed here on night 1 of a 5 day backpacking trek through paintbrush and cascade canyons. It basically puts you right on the trail. Most sites are shaded, but some open up to a great view of the Tetons. Be bear safe, as this campground was closed last time I passed through due to a black bear rummaging through the sites in search of food.

Great location for hikers

Jenny Lake Campground was our last stop in a multi-week camping/backpacking trip through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The peace and quiet Jenny Lake provides was just what we were looking for!

We arrived to the campground between around 8am and were able to get a site. I would suggest getting there at least that early during peak season as the campground is smaller and fills up quickly.

The campsites were spacious and well kept. Everyone was polite and friendly. We even had an elk wander through our campsite after dark!

We only stayed two nights but will definitely be back!

Jenny Lake is a tent only campground located right on the shore of Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park. During peak season (June-Aug) this campsite fills by 9AM but we arrived at 4PM and there were still spots available. From this campsite the main hiking hub of Grand Teton is within walking distance as well as the camp store as visitors center. Since it was still early in the season a lot of the trails were closed to snow but the open trails still made for an amazing experience. 

Jenny Lake May 18-20

We stayed here and were treated to a luxury experience with a telephone next to the registration booth! In addition to being close to Jenny Lake the gorgeous Hidden Falls is also very close! There's no reason not to stay here but try to get here before 8 am if you want a spot!

Beautiful hub for the park!

This coveted campground is for tents only, fwith only 49 sites, and no reservations. However, it is worth it to get there early (before 9am) to nab one of the sites as someone else packs up! You will be in a prime location in Grand Teton National Park, with stunning views along the many hikes along Jenny Lake. There is a visitor center within walking distance, and the campground are centrally located between the north and south ends of the park.

Great quiet campsite

Great campground. Running water spickets are near or on every site. Bear boxes also In each sIte, plus a picnic table and fire pit wIth a grill grate that cam fold over it. There’s a flattened “pad” to pitch your tent on, and we were able to fit (2) two-person tents on it, but that was a squeeze, clearly designed for only one tent but a big one would still fit fine. There’s one restroom for the whole campground that has flush toilets, running water sinks, mirrors, and hand soap. The “caretaker” for the site has an RV right next to the restroom and he serviced it for us immediately upon request when it was out of TP. There were deer walking through the sites the whole time we were there which was awesome. Drawback to our site was that there wasn’t anywhere on it with privacy enough from other sites around it to go to the bathroom, so pretty much had to make the 5 minute walk to the bathroom each time. Also the site is right next to the lake, and lots to do and hike around it without getting in your car. The store is also right near by, maybe a 10 minute walk, and is pretty reasonably priced. Bought all our firewood there and other things we forgot like plates and cheese. We got super lucky to get the site though, as people would start showing up at 6am to get in line for the sites and while we were there they were all accounted for by 8am. “Checkout” was at 11am though, very reasonable. 

Great campsite, hard to get

Get there early, and be patient, first come first serve and ultra popular! Insane views of the tetons! Short hike to Jenny Lake and the boat dock. There is a great hike that leads to an incredible waterfall on the other side! For the win!

Best Campground in the Tetons, you betcha!

Jenny Lake campground is a first come first served campsite. We showed up early and went and found a campsite without a mountain view. Turns out we came too early since all the mountain view sites were packing up to leave instead of unpacking. It turns out that the mountain view is not actually what you want. The wind howls deep and frequent and tore through many of those sites unless they were properly prepared for wind. We had an opening thru the other side of the tree line and our site was mildly windy, moreso at night. Day time temperatures were very warm, but nights were closer to freezing. We camped here middle of June and the early morning had snow drifting off the storms above the mountains. We were unprepared for the temperatures dropping that low. There are no showers at this campground. Be prepared to run across deer in there, I was not prepared on my groggy way back from the bathroom at 7am and was very shocked. I would have been in trouble had it been a scarier animal. The trail around Jenny Lake was the most grounding experience I've ever experienced. I dream of the chance of getting back her to repeat. The mountains are so beautiful, you have a hard time believing it's not a painting. The campground staff was very helpful and did frequent rounds to ensure everyone was complying to campsite rules. The sites are not too close, unless you want mountain view. There is a paved path that can lead you to the visitor's center. Be sure to do the ENTIRE path of Jenny Lake, but be prepared for an all day adventure!

Incredible views. Can walk to boat launch area. Take the boat across for some insane hikes and views of waterfalls. Get there super early and you will get a site.

Best campground in the park

I camped here as part of my National Park hiking trip to Grand Teton National Park. It was a quiet campground close to hiking at Jenny Lake. The campsites were first come and filled up quickly. Like most national park campgrounds, there were not showers, but flush toilets were available. This was a great place to camp while hiking the national park.

Great camping in Grand Teton National Park

Incredible tent only campground only a short &amp; easy hike away from Jenny Lake. Since it’s first-come, first-served with only 50 sites, you have to get there early to claim your site - especially in the summer. We got very lucky and had a wonderful site (#34) with a view of the mountains just below the tent pads. The site is large and had several balanced rock stacks around it, adding to its peacefulness. The clearing down below has a wonderful flat boulder where our boys played cards and watched for the elk that would frequent the clearing. Hosts were incredibly friendly and gracious, stopping to chat often.

Piece of heaven!

We had to wait until 5pm to get an open ADA site because the rest were full, but boy was it WORTH IT. This campground was beautiful and lush. No showers only toilets but our site was paved (ADA) and we even had a group of black bears come through! Short distance to Jenny and String lake. Lots of close hiking. Bathrooms were clean with plugs to charge phones and whatnot. Only stayed one night but had a great experience!

I’ve stayed at this campground before and always enjoy it. Great area of the park with trails close by. Lots of scenery, water and wildlife opportunities! I will go back again 

Snowy late May trip

Absolutely beautiful place to camp and that's about it for me here. If you want a spot show up at 6 AM and take a nap until 8 AM when it opens to let you go get a site. If you don't do this you will not get a spot. Their is only one bathroom in the entire campground its O.K. no showers at all. I'm the camper that likes to set things up and enjoy the actual camp site. I like to set up a good eating cook out area and enjoy a lot of food and hanging out. I'm not the bare minimum next to nothing eating out of an MRE camper. That being said the amount of cleaning and putting every thing away for the bears is way to much work and made the camping not fun at all. I don't blame the bears or anything else it was a lot more than I anticipated.

  

                  I would recommend using a camper not tent camping if you camp like me. If you're the bare minimum camper its perfect for you. I recommend this campsite though just absolutely beautiful place to be.

As usual with me, it’s more about the area than the actual campground, but this is actually probably my favorite campground in the Tetons. It just has a really nice feel to it and it’s obviously in a beautiful area. You can walk right to the lake from the campground. 

  

You can find sites close to others or pretty secluded so it’s got something for everyone. There’s a ton of regular camping sites and also some for bikers and hikers. I think all are first come first served. 

  

My friends and I had a great time here. We drove into the park and did some back packing in the death shelf area. We stayed at the campground and chilled for a night before doing some climbing. Really nice campground right in the heart of the Tetons.

Beautiful area, awesome place 

There is a reason this spot is so popular! It's gorgeous, there are amazing trails nearby, and it's centrally located for all kinds of exploring within the park. Even though it's a favorite, the campground doesn't really feel crowded, except at 8 am when folks are choosing their spots. There are only 49 and with a few exceptions, they are pretty wooded and private.

  

In the summer, you really do have to show up at 7 am or earlier. You can't make reservations. At 8 am, the campground hosts lets cars in one-at-a-time to choose a site that is marked as unoccupied (even if there are currently campers there). You choose and tag your spot, pay for it, and then head off for an adventure until you are ready to set up camp. 

  

Because it's tent-only camping, it seems very quiet. Lots of wildlife - moose, deer, and sometimes bear. The rangers will come around and let you know if there's a bear in the campground, and they also patrol sites to make sure they are kept clean. You can only have your tent and camp chairs out unless you are eating.

Best Campground in Grand Teton National Park

Although it rained for two days at the Grand Tetons, camp was amazing! Big spots, lots of trees for shade (if it’s not raining) fire pits and much more. The views from Jenny Lake are spectacular!

Unreal!

Arrived at 3am on Friday morning - we were 3rd in line. Managers of the camp are amazing - check in was simple and efficient. I do have to say there was 20+ cars in line behind us - only let in a handful of cars. Lots of people were turned away. Camp sites are very different - ones with a view of the mountains have no shade / ones with shade have no view. We got out of the car around 6am - took a walk through the site. You can see what date everyone is leaving - I highly advise that you write down sites that you want to camp in. Managment walks down the line of cars and you get to pick with the site then. We got site #46 and it’s a dream. Not too close to any other sites and has An amazing view but no shade - close to trash, entry way, showers (very nice / hot water / $4.50) and bathrooms with out being too close. Perfect proximity. Also - don’t buy the fire wood from the visitor center - it’s treated or not dry - absolute smoke show. FULL DISCLOSURE: very popular - green foot central. 

Simply the best 

You absolutely need to camp at Jenny Lake once in your life.  Yes it's tent only so you will be "roughing it".  But the being lakeside at the base of the Grand Teton is nothing short of spectacular.  The camp host was friendly and the sites were clean.  You are a 30 second to two minute walk from Jenny Lake with fishing, hiking trails, or a boat ride.  There is wildlife in the area, moose, bears, elk, deer.  If you love the outdoors you will love Jenny Lake Campground

A spiritual experience

We tried this campground last year when it was FCFS and struck out but was able to book a few days this year. Sites are a good mix of sun and shade. Some more than others and only a few spots were quite small. Any site will be great. Camp host was great, informed us when a mama bear and her two Cubs were walking thru camp. We had a doe and buck getting comfortable next to our site but were completely harmless. There are water spickets every 5-8 spots and there’s only one bathroom building. We love it here, so will you!

Great location in Grand Teton Natl Park

I really enjoyed my stay at Colter Bay. It was nice to be right in the Teton National Park so I could access everywhere so easily. It is conveniently located close to the middle of the park for easy access of different locations. I love that each location had a bear box for your food. 

Everything you need in one spot

We have stayed here two years in a row, once in a small utility trailer with a roof top tent, and the other in a larger travel trailer. Both times we loved our time and met the most amazing people. Plus the views are out of this world. The hikes are without a doubt some of the best in the country, and the wildlife is beyond anything else we have seen. 

  

Colter Bay has lots of different loops (some generator allowed, some not, some tent only, some backpacker only). This is definitely a reserve in the future campground. You will definitely roll the dice if you show up here and expect to stay. Some of this may be seasonal, but truthfully the fall is probably just as busy as the summer because of the colors- OH THE COLORS! We have done multiple hikes here and without a doubt the best time to come is during the fall (mid-late September) to see the colors. 

  

There is a general store at the village as well as laundry, WiFi, propane, and even a restaurant (we haven't eaten here though). Things are, as you would expect, a bit expensive at the store, but if you need it, you need it. The gift store is also a bit expensive, but has some good stuff. There is no cell service in the campground, so the WiFi is nice to have in a pinch. If you really need service or WiFi, drive down the road 10 minutes to Jackson Lake Lodge (or if you just want to see how incredible it is). Spend some time at the lodges' lobby and enjoy the panoramic views of the Tetons. You can order food (sub-par, honestly), or order drinks from the bar. There are multiple stores on the top floor as well.

A great jump off point to see the whole park

N291 was a great site within a great campground. It is far enough away from the busy general store area. Close to the bathhouse but not right next to it where the lights disturb you. There is a large clearing in front of the tent pad with small trails to explore. Ample room to set up our 8 person tent and a separate cooking area under our screen house. We even had some deer trot through our site one evening. The front parking pad has a clear view of Grand Teton. Perfect for families. 

Popular campground with amenities and views

Beautiful campground!  I only give it 4 stars because you are packed in like sardines, which most likely needs to be the case since it's such a small area under the Tetons.  Very good access to water all around the campground to put out fires or fill up your water tanks.  You can even take a shower here with a little cash.  Beautiful walk to the lake and I woke up to a moose about 30 feet from my campsite!!

All the amenities

I car camped here with a friend in early June while visiting the Tetons and Yellowstone and this was great stop-over working north from Gross Ventre. 

The campsites were well spaced and tucked into the trees for some privacy and space. The tent pads were level and each site had a bear box. Facilities were clean. 

Our site was a short trail walk to Jackson lake which had a nice grassy area with park benches, with sign wave that suggested swimming is available later in the year. 

We didn’t check out Colter Bay Village, but there is a well stocked gas station around the entrance to the campground. 

The campground was a 15 min drive to Jackson Lake Dam, which was the best option for fishing during our stay, and an equal drive to Signal Mountain lodge which had an excellent restaurant overlooking Jackson Lake and the surrounding mountains. 

This was a perfect stop-over campsite to explore the northern part of the park on the way to Yellowstone. 

Woodsy campsite great for North Teton access

Absolutely worth the price to be staying smack in the middle of the GTNP. extremely close to south entrance of yellowstone too. 
Staff is fantastic. On-site grocery and gas station. Huge laundry room. Walking distance to the lake. 

Book early!! It’s fulllll in the summer months! And be sure to check each site for max length to make sure you fit. They all vary. 

Great spot right in the Tetons

If you are incredibly fortunate to snag a place at Jenny Lake Campground you'll have the rare experience of enjoying a small campground without RV's. Don't try to bring more than one car or a large van--- there simply isn't space in each driveway which is really engineered for a station wagon in the narrow parking space. The camp road is very, very tight.

There are **50 spaces** for regular tent campers with cars and **10 amazing sites** for bike or hiking adventurers who are without cars and need to register "on the day" they are passing through. The campground includes 3 ADA spaces close to the simple bathroom which was the first one in the park way back when….

Wind can be very strong.

Exceptionally friendly &amp; gracious hosts are a bonus.

The Premier Campground in GTNP - Tents only

Campsite was adequate for 2 tents. It was far enough of the bathrooms for reduced noise. There are enough trees to put up a rain fly and a clothes line. The water faucet is a short walk. 
We had the pleasure of seeing a young black bear one morning but no moose. 
The showers are just fine. I didn’t use them but they are clean. You can pay with change or credit card. 

Great location to visit Grand Teton NP

We stayed here for one night and the campground was entirely booked so reservations ahead of time are a must, at least when we went in May.  The campground is very pretty and each spot has some sense of privacy, however it is hard to get a remote feeling. The drive around the campground may be tight for some larger vehicles as it is one-way but is nicely paved. The pull-in for the campsites was very tight for my larger vehicle with bikes on the back. The campground facilities were very nice and clean. The location of this campground is amazing, although the views from within the campsite we stayed at weren’t anything special. It is a walk or short drive to the welcome center and hike around Jenny Lake and up into the mountains. This was what our trip was all about! We only stayed at the campground for one night and had an amazing hike where we saw two baby brown bears playing in a tree while the mother bear was rustling around looking for food nearby and so many other cool animals including a Moose! Jenny Lake with the Grand Tetons in the background is one of the most beautiful spots of wilderness I have seen. This is a must go back to location as there is so much to do in the surrounding areas! It is also about 30 to 40 min. Away from Jackson Hall, which is a great place to get some yummy food, cool pictures of the town, and relax.
