## Overview

 Duck Creek Campground is located 25 miles east of Cedar City, Utah. Visitors enjoy fishing in Duck Creek Pond and nearby Navajo Lake, exploring the Markagunt OHV Trail System and the many miles of non-motorized trails. Nearby sites to see are Cascade Falls, Cedar Breaks National Monument, the Ice Cave and Mammoth Caves. It is the perfect place to stay if your plans include visiting Bryce and Zions National Parks. 
## Recreation

 Duck Creek Pond offers great fishing for rainbow, brook, brown and cutthroat trout. The Markagunt ATV Trail System can be accessed from within the campground, offering about 300 miles of ATV/OHV routes and trails for riders of all skill levels. The Virgin River Rim Trail is a very popular 32 mile trail that skirts the Virgin River Rim with views of Zions National Park in the distance and the Virgin River Rim. The trail can be accessed in several locations and is within a few minute drive from the the campground. This trail is a non-motorized trail and enjoyed by bicyclist, horses and foot travel. There are many sites in the nearby area such as Cedar Breaks National Monument about a 15 minute drive from the campground and Bryce Canyon National Park approx 50 miles to the east. The Duck Creek Visitor Center is just across the road from the campground and will provide you with all the area information and local attractions such as Cascade Falls, Mammoth and Ice Caves, and excellent fishing at Navajo lake and Panguitch lake. 
## Facilities

 Duck Creek offers a variety of campsites for families and groups alike. Flush and vault toilets are provided, as is drinking water from Memorial Day through mid-September. An amphitheater with a covered stage and plentiful bench seating is located in the campground. There is a OHV parking area that is located on the northeast corner in Loop D between campsites 89 and 90. OHV\'s including street legal are allowed to ride from your campsite to the trail located in the D loop and back to your campsite only. Joy riding is not allowed in the campground. OHV\'s are only allowed in the C, D and E Loops. A and B loops are closed to all OHV\'s including street legal. The Duck Creek Visitor Center is just across the road from the campground with trail maps and information on the surrounding scenic area.There is a dumpstation with potable and non-potable water, drinking water spigots are scattered through out the campground. There are no hook-ups to the water so please make sure you fill you trailer before you set up camp at the dumpstation located at the entrance of the campground. 
## Natural Features

 The campground is situated in Aspen and Douglas Fir tree stands with several old growth Ponderosa Pines that are 200 to 500 years old, Which is adjacent to Duck Creek Pond that you can walk to from the campground at an elevation of 8,400 feet. The area is rich in volcanic rock fields that orginated from underground lava tubes. 
## Nearby Attractions

 Restaurants, cabin rentals, groceries, fuel are are available located in Duck Creek Village two miles east of the campground. Small aluminum fishing boat rentals, a boat dock, rustic cabin lodging are available at nearby Navajo Lake Lodge which is located on the northwest shore of Navajo Lake a short 6 miles from the campground. Cedar Breaks National Monument is 10 miles away, with hiking trails, guided tours and breathtaking scenery. Adjacent to Cedar Breaks National Monument is the Ashdown Gorge Wilderness Area, where hikers will find miles of trails including the Twisted Forest trail that has a stand of ancient bristlecone pine some of which can live up to 5,000 years. Bryce Canyon National Park is a 35 minute drive to the east, Zions National Park is an hour drive to the south. The Dixie National Forest offers endless trails both motorized and non-motorized along with high altitude fishing lakes and streams. Come Stay and Play!

Duck Creek

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing camping trip, this is not the place to go. If you are looking for 800+ miles of OHV trails, this is the place to go! ATV's, dirt bikes and side by sides galore! It is a fun place to camp if you are expecting the noise. Duck Creek Village is very close to Bryce Canyon and Zion

Stayed three nights with a large group in two adjacent sites. Close to restrooms with flushing (!) toilets that were well maintained picnic tables and firepits and tent platforms made it a very nice stay, super fun campground

Nive facilities and beautiful area

For the most part, I really enjoyed this campground.  Though a little difficult to find, the campground is incredibly beautiful and smells amazing.  You can also make reservations, and it is recommended.  It is tucked into a woodsy area and the sites are very private; it almost felt like we were the only ones there.  Each site comes with a picnic table, fire ring, and bear bag hook (yes, this is bear country).  The only things I disliked were that the table wasn't movable, and there is a giant patch of cement that took up most of the site space.  There are flushable toilets and sinks, but no showers.  We went on a hunt to find showers since the website said there were some in town, but were told that there were no longer any available.  However, after stopping at the Duck Creek Visitor Center across the highway, we finally found out that there are pay showers at the Pinewoods Resort.  They were $5 each for an unlimited amount of time, but beware, the hot water runs out quickly.  Duck Creek Village doesn't have too much to offer, but the scenery is beautiful.  Also, be sure to make a stop at Navajo Lake, just down the road from Duck Creek Village; the views are breathtaking.  Despite our shower adventure, this is definitely a campground I would stay at again.

Serene and private

This is a nice campground where your sites are not too crowded. You're stuck into the trees nicely (for the tent sites, RV are more open) and i think the tent first come first serve sites in loop D and E are better since you're further away from the highway and get less noise.
You have your standard table and fire ring plus a good amount of potable water spigots around.
There aren't as many bathrooms as you'd think for the amount of people there are (this is a pretty heavily used national forest campground). 

Nice camp, could hold a lot of people

Beautiful campground with tall pine trees &amp; clusters of aspen. Well-spaced &amp; large sites with level concrete driveways (good for RV parking) &amp; concrete picnic table/fire pit areas. Clean restrooms, water on taps, close to Duck Creek Reservoir. Friendly hosts &amp; very affordable. Close to many hiking trails. Love Utah's Forest Service Campgrounds!

Duck Creek Campground, near Duck Creek Village, UT

If you love to camp in the woods, Duck Creek is the perfect spot. It's easy to get to (once you get through the mountain pass on either side) off of Utah 14 in the beautiful stretch of land called Duck Creek. Pines and aspen trees are all around, though some sites are more shady than others. If you like to be in the trees or if you like to have full sun for solar, this place has a mix. And it's huge! Nearly 100 sites to choose from in about 4 or 5 loops. We stayed in the A loop, which the major differences are it has flush toilets and all the driveways are paved.

Duck Creek has some nice hiking trails, but a lot of people seem to come here with their ATVs. The campground has an ATV parking lot and trail. Navajo Lake is close by for hiking and mountain biking, and Cedar Breaks and Brian Head are just about twenty and thirty minutes away, respectively.

We made reservations online so that cost an extra $10 in addition to the $17 nightly rate, but we enjoy the peace of mind that we're getting a site and the site that we want. #27 was relatively private and had a lot of trees. A deer visited one afternoon, and a robin was making a nest in the trees above us. It was a very peaceful stay.

The only negative was when we arrived. We came up a steep mountain so didn't have a full water tank, but the dump station was closed when we arrived. The camp host was in his trailer, so we asked where we could fill up water. I don't know if he doesn't have the keys to the gates on the station or what, but he said if our hose was long enough we could fill our tank from the water station there. He seemed put out and not very accommodating to someone requesting fresh water. It's not like we wanted fresh towels! After some creative backing up, parking, and combining and stretching hoses, we filled up our tank. Later, we noticed the gates to the station were open. Okaaaaaay. And when we left two days later, we were grateful the dump station was open.

There seemed to be a bit more trash around than we usually see in campgrounds, but we arrived on a Monday so maybe the weekend crowd was a little sloppy. We left our site cleaner than we found it for sure.

Overall, it was a nice place to spend a few nights as we visited the surrounding area.

Beautiful Area

This spot is right off the hwy but very peaceful. Lots of great tree cover. Best part is you can have your dogs here!

Nice and quiet!

**_doesn't matter if your tent camping or using an RV I guess I'm kind of partial to this campground my family has had our reunions here for 100+ years. There are freshwater places where you can hook up and get fresh water and there is a RV clean-out spot, and there are restrooms._**

**_For those that need it DuckCreekVillage down the road has a store, gas station, and cabins you can rent. You can also go online and reserve a spot if you need to or a cabin or whatever you like in the area_**

My favorite campsite

We choose duck creek due to the proximity to Zion and Bryce Canyon and it was an hour or so from each. This was a nice quite spot, but at the end of June it was freezing! In the mornings it was around 37 degrees, I had to jump in the truck to warm up! No showers or cell service, the bathrooms had running water and were clean. We never found any showers or laundry in duck creek village as the site suggested and there was no one to ask. We found a nice RV park in hatch where we had showers for 5.00 each, laundry was also reasonable there. They had picnic tables and a fire pit which was nice.

Very quaint and charming. It is popular although not packed with people with plenty of space left between campgrounds. There is a big pond of water with all sorts of wildlife and running streams. 

Be sure to make reservations on weekends. It’s located on the top of a very high canyon so bring warm layers or the nighttime.

Ended up at Duck Creek mid May where nights got down to 25 degrees. Besides getting a little chillier and windier than we anticipated, it was a great campsite! Bathrooms were cleaned twice a day- cleanest campground bathrooms I’ve used. Beautiful views. Pond didn’t have any fish at the time we went but was still enjoyable. Also, they had firewood available to purchase if needed and staff was almost always available in the first loop.

Big spacious campground with a ton of hiking trails and lakes. Navajo lake is minutes away too. No showers but has running water and decent bathrooms. This campsite is great for group site. They also sell fire wood at the campground which is always a plus, sells for six dollars a bundle. Grocery store, gas station, and restaurants and down the road as well. Also has a great local coffee shop too! It’s closed Tuesday- Wednesday. 

Huge campground

I tent camped at Duck Creek in Aug. 2020. It was cool and fresh. I could’ve camped around Kanab but an elk bowhunter in a bar in Alpine AZ recommend Duck Creek instead because Kanab would be hot. 

Cool respite in a hot August

This campsite was great. It’s pretty close to Navajo Lake and a small town. The campsite was pretty spacious for 2 people and they’re nicely distanced from the other campsites around you. There were also a lot of chipmunks around there but they don’t bug you if you leave them alone just don’t leave any food out or they’ll get it!! For the weather, it was warm during the day and chilly at night - amazing. Overall, we loved our campsite so we’re going to reserve it every time we come back.

The campsites were spread well apart. Clean facilities and restrooms. Really nice spot in the forest.

There is “everything” to do a short distance from here.

This campground has been a family favorite for decades.  It’s situated near Duck creek Village but since they don’t allow ATVs in the campground it can feel very quiet.  Rain is common. Great tent pads.  Flush toilets, no showers.  Near trails leading to fishing.  Good half-day to drive Zion and Bryce but very close to Cedar Breaks. This site is very close to the bathroom, the porch light of which makes night vision at your camp almost impossible so no stargazing.

Great Family Camping

We stayed in two sites at Duck Creek this trip.  Site 39 was more open, fewer trees, not hammock friendly but great night sky viewing.  Longer walk to restroom.  This campground is near Duck Creek Village and is a great staging point for half-day trips to Zion, Bryce or a shorter trip to Cedar Breaks.  This site borders the meadow by the lake but no real trail from site to get to lake.  We used the extra open space (with no neighbors on either side) for frisbee golf- had some good stumps for natural features.

Less Shade but more isolated Site

We are new at the RV adventure and we needed a last minute camp following a change in our schedule. We arrived quite late and had no issue getting a site, and what a sight 💕 the camp manager was available to help us and we had a amazing evening in a very isolated campsite. We took site 60, accommodated our RV and we were very close to the restroom ( super clean). Would not hesitate to come back !

What and amazing adventure.  You truly feel like you are on to of the World.￼ Very nice hiking trails, miles and miles of off roading trails for quads!!! We stayed on Loop A at the campground, beautiful and quiet.  No showers and the bathrooms need to be updated, but clean and well maintained.  Over all had a blast and will be back for years to come!!!
