great place to stop for a night - very little privacy
If you like history this is a great spot to camp, when exploring. Just don't expect privacy. That said the views are wonderful. The sites all have fire rings, tent sites don't have anything else. RV sites do offer full hookups. The access into the site is paved. There is a trash house and bathhouse on the grounds.

Quiet, clean and friendly campground
Relatively new to camping but really enjoyed this campground. Sites are flat and well equipped with picnic table and and fire ring. Bathrooms are clean with hot showers. Some sites are a bit close but it was not very crowded so it didn't bother us. Beautiful views of Lake Champlain from the grounds. Staff were friendly and very helpful with directions.
Beautiful along the lake
The best part of this campground is the view of Lake Champlain and Vermont. We stayed here one night in our RV with no hookups. The site was gorgeous and the campground clean.

An Easy Stop Along Lake Champlain
Small and quiet campground, right at the Lake Champlain Visitor’s Center and bridge which crosses from NY to VT. Many sites have a view of Lake Champlain, as well as this beautiful bridge. There are also some nice picnic spots.
This historic site is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the ruins of 2 fortifications from the colonial wars between the British and French, as well as the Champlain Memorial Lighthouse. We used this site as a quick stop between the Adirondacks and Burlington, VT.
Sites are basic with a picnic table and fire ring. Trash and drinking water are available, as well as flush toilets and hot showers. Bathrooms are kept clean and there is an amazing dishwashing facility. Some sites can accommodate small to medium RV’s, but most are perfect for tents (no tent pads though). All sites are open, sunny but with very little privacy between sites.
Port Henry is the closest town, with everything you made need for your camping trip. The surrounding area is perfect for road biking and kayaking on the lake.

Pretty Good
The campsite was nothing special, but was close to where we were and met all our needs
Great for history buffs
Lots of history here, old forts. On river border of NY & VT. Nice views from the campsites, some places to walk around including a bridge. Lots of room for big RV, good hookups. Pretty quiet. Clean and well cared for.
Great little peninsula
Walking around you can see sunrises, sunsets, boats, forts, the bridge, history. The fort and its museum are the main attractions but there’s a lot more to do nearby as well. The camp site is a step above basic with actual hot showers and power. Lots of RV travelers but it was pretty quiet during the week in June/July. Not ADK wilderness but we’d still return.
Amazing
The ruins of Fort Douglas and the bridge were both amazing views. Biking across the bridge was a great workout as well as a tour of the fort. So much history. Went across the bridge for ice cream. Boating was great. Always a pleasure, been multiple times and will be back.
