## Overview

 Cages Bend Campground is located on the shores of Old Hickory Lake, offering campers the opportunity to enjoy activities with a beautiful scenic backdrop. Water recreation is the major attraction for lake-goers, but with white-tailed deer, migratory song birds and waterfowl abundant in the area, birding and wildlife photography is popular as well.
## Recreation

 Swimming and sailing are popular ways to enjoy the lake, and anglers can find exceptional bank and boat fishing for catfish, crappie and bass.
## Facilities

 The campground offers a playground for families, a boat ramp for easy lake access, showers for comfort and a group picnic shelter for convenient entertaining. All sites have electric and water hookups and four sites meet accessibility standards. Laundry facilities are also onsite. Two docks are also available for fishing only, one is located inside the campground and the other is beside the boat ramp.
## Natural Features

 Old Hickory Lake is a 22,500 acre reservoir just northeast of the Nashville metropolitan area. Fed by the Cumberland River, it stretches for 97 miles, offering an ideal home for several birds and animals in its woodland habitat. 
## Nearby Attractions

 Downtown Nashville, known as \"the music city,\" is just over a thirty minute drive from the campground. Visitors looking for more pier fishing opportunities can explore nearby piers at Rockland, Sanders Ferry, Shutes Branch and Bledsoe Creek State Park. History buffs will appreciate a day trip to the Hermitage, an impressive National Historic Landmark where the seventh U.S. President, Andrew Jackson lived.

 \* Once your reservation has been created, there will be a $10.00 fee to cancel and a $10.00 fee to change your site or dates. \* Cancellations made the day before, or up to the day after your arrival date will also be charged the first nights use fee. \* No-Shows are charged a $20.00 fee plus the first nights use fee. \* If your reservation is for 1 night, and you have been charged the first nights use fee, there is no $10.00 serivce fee.

Cages Bend

**Cages Bend Campground and Boatramp** is a very clean, organized, well maintained area.

The entire Old Hickory Lake has a lot of nice areas to enjoy your leisure pursuits. A little too organized for my taste.

Off Nashville Pike, in the suburbs, near the city but fells like the country. The campground sites are close together , placed strategically so your not staring at your next site neighbor. The outer ring would be a little more private. There are water sites close enough to the water to walk your yak down for a paddle.

One showerhouse not centrally located, a boat ramp and parking area. Reserve ahead, definitely on the weekends.

Neat and orderly

I almost feel bad writing about Cages Bend because I don’t want people to crowd us out. It’s a core of engineering park one of the best. Small album on the river and so peaceful you’ll think your in a move. We go every year. Please be respectfully of staff and neighborhood.

Hidden gem

We found this while traveling from FL to MN - basically needed a place to stay for the night.  What a gem and wonderful night!  We made online reservations and checked in, tried to switch sites (which turned into a hassle) and ended up in site #21.  On their not to scale map, that site looks crowded and not close to the water, but it's actually a gorgeous site.  That part of park, the sites are long and narrow, but we never felt close to our neighbors.  They have built these circa 1972 concrete bunkers for the picnic table and a few other tables (to clean fish?) so that part of each site is strange, but the fire pit was nice and we had a wonderful meal.  There are stairs up to the camper - just fyi.  The bathrooms are very clean and the showers had good water pressure and hot water.  Very quiet in the week leading up to Memorial Day weekend.  I'd recommend and stay again if we are in the area.

Wonderful

We stayed in site 41. We were in town for an event and picked this site for the convenience to the exit. Turned out to be a great spot. It was quiet and clean. I think every site has some view of the lake, even if not directly. The staff was friendly. The dump station was clean but short and tight. I have a 25' camper and fit ok, but speaking to another camper with a large 5th wheel, he couldn't use it.

Corp of Engineers campground with a view of Old Hickory Lake. Some waterfront sites. Adjacent boat ramp. Fishing platform. Well kept. Convenient to amenities in Hendersonville and Gallatin. 
Several sites have parking &amp; picnic areas at different Some sites are gravel, other’s concrete. Playground with adjacent shelter .

I booked site 17 as most other sites were booked. Rarely get the best pick in that scenario. Just enough room for my truck &amp; 24ft camper . It’s concrete picnic table &amp; grill at different level . Door opening is opposite water views.
