## Overview

 Located on beautiful Skiatook Lake in northeast Oklahoma, Tall Chief Cove is one of the most popular campgrounds in the region. The campground has a variety of sites along the forested lakeshore, and visitors can enjoy boating, hiking, swimming, picnicking and fishing from the facility.
## Recreation

 Families enjoy the convenience of this facility\'s swim beach, picnic areas, nature trail, playground and educational programs. Sport fishing for largemouth bass, black and white crappie, channel catfish and several species of sunfish offers anglers many hours of enjoyment on the lake. About 6,000 acres of public land in the lake area are open to hunters wishing to pursue whitetail, quail, rabbit and squirrel. 
## Facilities

 Tall Chief Cove offers 50 individual sites with electric hookups and one group picnic shelter for day use that can host up to 200 people. All guests with reservations can utilize our professional style volley ball court, basketball court, disc golf course, or horseshoe pits. The campground provides covered picnic tables, restrooms and showers.
## Natural Features

 Gentle rolling hills of blackjack and post oak trees intersperse with tall grass prairie around the glistening lake. The shoreline is accentuated by steep picturesque bluffs which offer views of the water.

Tall Chief Cove

This was an interesting campground to access.You have to know where you want to end up as the drive in through fancy subdivisions is not what a typical camper necessarily expects to have to do. But once you get past the expensive houses on huge lots and go down the hill to the campground you discover a really nice campground on a beautiful lake. This is really a lake camper more than anything else, but there are plenty of activities to keep everyone in the family happy. There is a nice beach, huge playground, lots of open spaces for family games, a beach volleyball area and horseshoe pits. There is even a frisbee golf course as well as a nice amphitheater. All of the campsites are on the lake with all sites having electric and water, and if you are lucky you can score a site with a covered picnic table (there were only a few sites that had this nice luxury). This is an RV/camper type campground, I didn’t see any other tents besides mine. There was a short nature trail, but again, this is a campground geared to lake living. The bathhouse was one of the cleanest, most modern I’ve ever seen in a campground.

Stayed in B39 with a lake view and saw lots of bird wildlife.  N9 sewer hookup but had a nice covered pavilion, fire ring, concrete pad with a concrete patio.  Loved it.

Nice lakeside campground. Electric at every site and communal water spigots. Flush toilets and showers. Site has a playground, disc golf course, volleyball, basketball hoop. Site is set up for trailers but they accept tent campers.

The title says it all, being right off the lake you get all of your lake benefits.

I went on a very windy day, so tent camping was never going to happen, but getting rocked to sleep in my hammock was nice.

Pros:
Electric hookups at all sites
No light pollution
Good bathrooms and showers

Cons:
A Loop, is really the only loop you should tent in
Two night minimum
The "nature trail" is just a cut from A Loop to the showers

Great for RV's and Lake Activities
