Park was nice had lots of space but not very good phone reception and showers did not work

Got there the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend but didn't go out there until Saturday before and I was too late for the campsites among the trees. I was in the overflow camping, nice spots but no trees taller than 6 feet, It wasn't a deal breaker because the temp never got above 75 degrees. The people that watched the place were pleasant, the park was clean and the showers and restrooms were clean but showed their age, just like me. One very small bar on my Verizon iPhone 12 but I managed to Facetime when I wanted. The campground commander had ice but that was about all. It was 11 to 14 miles to the grocery store on 5th Street or the Walmart a bit further south on US 75. It is a first come, first serve kinda place. If you call and there is a place, you have to put something on the pad or it is still up for rental. I enjoyed myself and another trip there isn't out of the question.

Great place to camp and have fun on the water. Clean facilities and fun on the water.

We've stayed in the Hickory Point camping area twice this year (2018). It was nice. The bathrooms/facilities are CLEAN. The camp host is VERY nice. Our only struggle was neighbors with outdoor speakers. It seems like that could be monitored a little better.

I go here quite often. It has nice campsites nestled in the trees. It has a nice uncrowded campground. It always has availed campsites unless it is a hoiiday.The campsites are nice rather your in a campsites for RV and tents. The sites are very shading. It has a good swimming area. It has a fishing dock and a playground for the kids. The bathrooms are nice. Day use access is free with picnic tables, grills snd and showers. The bathrooms have showers and are very nice. The gradkids love it the campsites are very shady and pets are welcome. They also give 50% discount for camping if you have a golden age card or America the beautiful or disabled. There are stores nearby for supplies.

This little state park 15 minutes off I 75 is a great family and fishing park with many sites for both RV and tents. The original park built in 1927 by both the WPA and the CCC offers only one trail but lake access at every campground around the lake. The park didn't have much to offer me as I am not a true fisherman but rather prefer hiking so it was a little disappointing in that aspect however there were playgrounds at nearly every campground site for the kids. If you fish, boat, or kayak this would be a great spot. All of the sites have tree cover and nearby dated bathrooms. Bring soap.

Visited on a cool but rainy weekend. We had not been to the park before, so we explored their multiple campgrounds prior to deciding on one. We chose Red Oak b/c it had good space for tent camping. Hickory Point was another campground option but lacked tent space, more for RVs. By far the busiest area was Clovis; this is a big fishing area as we were told. All campgrounds had flush toilets, the facilities are older so they aren't great but they suffice. The park as a whole is well taken care of. The main points of attraction are fishing and swimming. It would be great for families with kids - designated beach areas for swimming, large playgrounds, etc... Kayaking and canoeing on the lake is a great alternative to hiking here; they only have one short nature trail within the park.
