Mountain Stream RV Park is at about 1800′ elevation in the middle of the Pisgah National Forest, nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. Beautiful Buck Creek flows through this valley and along two sides of the campground. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 3 miles away, but it’s 5 miles by road.

We are surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. You can take in many of the interesting attractions that are only a short drive away or you can just relax by the stream and listen to the cold clear water flowing over the rocky stream bed. And speaking of the stream, there’s trout in that thar’ water. All of our sites have full hook-ups – power (30 & 50 amp), water, sewer and cable TV.

Mountain Stream RV Park

We started our RV camping adventures at Mountain Stream, and have been hooked ever since. As the name implies, it's right beside a rocky mountain stream that all the sites back up to. It's a small park, and very well kept by the owners who live on site, Gena and Kevin. The sites are close together, but very level, clean, and with a nice picnic table. Many of the sites now have their own wooden decks overlooking the stream, which is a nice addition. There's a small dog park, and a large grassy area in the center of the park for playing games or catching some rays. They also have a large, very nice picnic shelter with fireplace, grill, and a huge built-in television. Each Saturday evening, Kevin serves up his special home cooked bar-b-que under the shelter at no additional cost, and many campers bring sides to share. It's like having a back yard picnic with friends and family! They've also recently built three yurts, and bought two large campers parked on the non-stream side that can be rented for those who don't have their own camper. Last year they invested heavily in a new wi-fi system that's MUCH improved from the first time we camped there. The bathhouse is clean and adequate, but nothing fancy; we're hoping that this will be next on their list of improvements during the off-season. Cell service is almost non-existent, but you can use the wifi for calls if necessary. There's no playground for kids, so some may see it as little more of an adult campground, but it's still kid friendly with the grassy area and stream to play in. I HIGHLY recommend this campground if you want peace, quiet, and seclusion.

Quaint, quiet, and peaceful.

A small campground with an updated basic playground set for the kids. Nice lawn courtyard for games. Beautiful level sites backed right up to Buck Creek where we enjoyed catching trout straight from our campsite. Located near many great hikes and river access.  My Mitchell is about 60 minutes away on a beautiful drive.  If you like peaceful and quiet campgrounds this is the place for you! 

Quiet and Peace in Pisgah National Forest 

Really beautiful spot. It's one small loop with around 30 sites, as well as 3 luxury yurts. Very level w/ nice gravel, fire pits &amp; picnic tables. A nice big creek runs behind most of the campsites. There's a playground for the kids and a little fenced in dog park, too (it even has a nice dog wash station!). Beautifully landscaped with lots of flowers, bird feeders and little white lights at night. The bathhouse was clean and there's a nice picnic shelter. The camp store has basic necessities (even local, fresh eggs). Blue Ridge Parkway isn't far. We recommend the hike to Crabtree Falls! Only con is that the sites are very close together.

Small, beautiful campgroud

We found this RV Park to be dreamy, the sounds of the creek  were very relaxing listening from our private deck. The grounds are immaculate and lit with beautiful lights at night. The bathrooms were immaculate and the camp store and firewood delivery is very convenient. I sat in the creek in my camp chair and was more relaxed then I have been in a very long time. There is alot to see somewhat close by too. We did Chimney Rock &amp; Linville Falls, both absolutely beautiful! 

All about the Ambiance

The only reason I did not give this a Five Star Rating was that the site we stayed at was a little small#7. Even with a 25-foot camper, I could not let me awning out fully and we felt almost on top of camper when we sat outside near the fire pit. Otherwise, this place is breathtaking. There are some other sites we marked down and will try to reserve next time because we will definitely be back. So please do not let my comment fool or discourage you at all, this place is amazing and a must visit. 

  

The staff was friendly; and the sound of the creek was just what this old soul needed as I celebrated my 50th birthday here. My wife and son made it memorable. Brody caught his first trout, it is a catch and release creek. We had pineapple upside down pancakes, ate fruity pebbles by the creek, visited to Mt. Mitchell, wife saw tons of Cardinals, was visited by the duck (you just have to be here to understand) basically we just had a wonderful 4-day mid-week.

Just Beautiful....

This campground was dreamy! The ambiance is perfect, the streamside campsite was music to our ears, the bathrooms immaculate and the yurts looked pretty great too! I could stay forever. We visited Chinney Rock and Linville Falls during our stay and they were both amazing sights to see. 

Nestled in the mountains alongside a babbling brook is this perfect campground.

This place is lovely, an idyllic setting, wonderful hosts, very clean facilities, and a great location to explore the area. We spent 2 nights here and loved our site, the deck over the rushing stream was a perfect place to sip coffee in the mornings and whiskey in the evenings. The dog park gave our pup the chance to run free, the clean bathhouses gave us a place to freshen up and the location gave us the ability to explore all Asheville had to offer, climb to the top of Mount Mitchell (the highest point East of the Mississippi) and just enjoy the surroundings. Our site had a full hook up, electric and water (even with temps in the low 20's at night), we had a fire ring (or square), a picnic table perched on the deck, cantilevered over the stream, and lovely (back-in) site with privacy and shade. We can't wait to come back.

The rushing stream was the perfect white noise for a restful night.

This was our first camping trip - recommended by friends. We loved it so much we booked it for the following year before we left. 
The sound of the stream was so peaceful and relaxing. My husband did yoga every morning while I hung in my hammock and watched. The other campers were so friendly we interacted with them all week. We hiked mount Mitchell- cooked on our fire pit and relaxed with the fresh mountain air and starry nights - slept peacefully with the sounds of the running stream. 
I couldn’t imagine a better place to start our new venture of camping - an adventure for the books for sure!!  Also the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with  all our needs!!!
